@Triedzi... True that:)
Gotta hand it out yah guys.. Of late Vusi's been playing well and he has noticed t. Don't blame him for going for greener pastures.. If it's money his after.... It should be in the thousands of US dollars¡ Coz from what I know, they are getting payed pretty handsomely in this franchise thingy...

I think we can still pick him for NZ, Sydney 1st grade is pretty similar std to Logan Cup.

He'll gain some good confidence if he can dominate some NSW hopefuls.

I dont think ZC usually pays much attention to past statements, theyll make the call in January on form

If he is playing in Australia , he is likely to be getting a simulation of the conditions that are going to be in New Zealand (my assumption conditions in NZ and Aus are similar) .
Instead of facing the usual Logan cup menu he will be getting something else . A mindset can change someone from being just there to be a super star . If he goes to a place where his mind is settled then be it , Cricket is a mind game and I would have Vusi be in the best state of mind .
So we are going to benefit from his move ......as for Logan cup he has not been playing for the Rhinos anyway coz of national team .

I do think that Zim are not in a position to be imposing conditions on players. Let's get the best XI possible on the field, irrespective of where they play.
I think its more the other way round, certainly with county cricket at least, what happens is there is a quota of intenationals that a county can take, and normally these are very good internationals, and these can call the shots, as to when they will be available, however the rest who do not carry British passports are accomodated under the Kolpak conditions, i.e. internationals who agree to reliquish all international cricket for county. So hence you will find the club country controversy is averted.

I can also understand ZC trying to protect the local competition by insisting all that want to be selected for Zim should play locally (ensures the local standard is higher than if our best were allowed to wander off to better competitions.) But as much as the youngsters learn from the older/more experienced guys retained, it does feel a bit counterproductive because the better players are never challenged and hence hit a "ceiling" at some point.

What I've always wanted to know is, the county season is normally during our winter, just as Gary is able to make our summer during their winter, I don't see why Brendan can't do the reverse, the problem is that there is no guarantee that when the International season starts he would be then available, and also the implications of the Kolpak ruling, due to limited "intenational" places available. But I think it is food for thought.

I really do feel it is not only unethical but immoral to spend huge amounts on these stars when our own youngsters are not even paid their pittances let alone the huge fees these stars command. I however would like official confirmation of how this works, i.e. who actually pays these stars, ZC or the Franchise owners (who still would not be immune to the moral argument).

Actually I doubtplaying in Australia will help him acclimatise to New Zealand, unless he plays in Tasmania. The pitches in Australia are much more batsmen friendly than New Zealand ones.

New Zealand is more similar to England I think.

New zealands all about the snow and that, australias all about the sun and desert.

If you like the slow life, rolling green mountains and alpine sports and wild weather then néw Zealands for you, but if you prefer faster paced sun sand ands bitches australias more your thing.

Alot of kiwis spend their youth in Australia wit the intention of going back one day

I think saying that NZ is mostly wet and overcast is a bit of a exaggeration. It is certainly greener and cooler than Australia however. Also you tend to only get snow in the mountains. I saw snow once during the 21 years I lived in NZ.

The NZ pitches offer something throughout the test for both bowlers and batsmen. We saw Asif and Amir :D couple of years ago when they were moving the ball for 5 days and the average NZ team having no clue about playing them. NZ also bowled suprisingly well.

The grounds are small so there is a lot of boundaries scored. Anyhow I think if Zimbabwe can put together a good team , a winning team not a 80% good team then it will be very very interesting to watch.

Brian Vitori can swing the ball both ways and he is a lefty , Keegan Meth can swing the ball . Can these guys be a good pick for these conditions .
