You are obsessed. One might also say deranged.
Well if it’s insane to say Dion Myers was a better option than Ballance, well let me be. Kid has proved his worth back to back 50s.

The future is bright 😎. Kid is a future captain too, he is not racist and a drug junkie

Facts hurts right. Continue hurting.

U surely cant be comparing Myers to Ballance?
Ballance was/is a world class batsman. Myers is just starting out in his career, which hopefully will be a decent one.
Your opinion is intriguing because we've seen it so many times- a promising young black lad comes along and suddenly he's touted as the Messiah and the next Lara.
There's a long list of guys that ZC were convinced were the next big thing in World cricket, none of them have gotten even half way.

I'm not saying he won't be good, personally I'm a big fan. Good guy, immensely talented sportsman and you're right, has captaincy skills, but he's not in the same department as Ballance. I'm not saying he hasn't got a chance, he certainly has, but he's got a long way to go. It's not easy in our environment to progress, we know this because practically everyone so far has failed. And bizarrely it always follows a similar pattern- they come out of the starting blocks fast l, but then don't kick on. Thats being kind, most guys here seem to then lose it.
I do share some of your enthusiasm, Dion has spine. I have high hopes for him, but Ballance he is currently not.

If he's not prejudiced shouldn't he get an administrative post? Kinda wasted as a player.

This is a very sober and well thought reply, hats off to you! I agree with almost everything here. The list is long of players who could have been the next big thing in World Cricket, but nothing works when the politics is not right. No one is to blame here other than Zimbabwe Cricket. I have a slight fear the same can happen to Dion but find comfort in knowing he has the right support systems around him.

Dion, he is not the Messiah or next Lara but brings a breath of fresh air and new sense of hope. He has started on the right gear and now a case of how he builds and progress from here.

Now comes to the part where i disagree with you

. Just because you have been a brilliant player doesn't always translate to being a good administrator. Remember cricket is a business and i don't think Ballance will ever succeed as an administrator in Zimbabwe. The pressure of running cricket in Zimbabwe is ridiculously high. For someone who has a history of mental breakdowns and even dropped out of university putting him in a toxic structure like Zimbabwe Cricket is not ideal and its setting them for failure. Look at Hamilton Masakadza right now, he is out of his depth. Years in the job but no plan on how to run cricket effectively.

I was laughing at the new funding Zim will get from ICC over the next 4 years about $18m a year, over half of what CSA get and slightly under half of what CA gets. But look at amount of cricket played in SA and Aus. The structures they have in place and Zimbabwe we barely have structures and getting $17m and we hide behind a finger that there is no money. Give me just $3 million and i will run domestic cricket in Zimbabwe from U16 to First Class and see the results.

The 18 million is going to be interesting. It is true that in terms of amount of cricket issues dealt with to how much they are getting, ZC might have the most money per cricket activity

There will be pressure to deliver some things with that kind of money. Especially domestic player salaries

Who needs Garry Ballance when we have Dion Myers. Like I said before Ballance isn’t and wasn’t a ‘messiah’ there was nothing special about him. What Zim cricket did with him borders on ‘criminality’ at best and ‘terrorism’ at worst. He should have proved his worth in domestic cricket first.
Terrorism hey

The 18 million figure is interesting, but I think the difference is CA does bring in alot of money, vis sponsorship.
That said,
Cricket isn’t a big in Australia as people think.
Popular? Yes, but hasn’t got the enthusiastic support of the AFL and rugby league.
It’s always been a background sport playing on tv during the sume months.
Aussies will know our national players, but not the domestic players.
I don’t know how this ranking is calculated, but it feels accurate to me;

Zim Cricket has an advantage that cricket is now popular than football in Zimbabwe. They can bring in sponsorship but if the politics isn't right nothing will work. Who wants to pour money in an organisation where accountability is ZERO.

That 18 Million figure, a third will go administrator's salaries :D :D :D and you ask what have they done to even be employed by ZC nothing. There is no meaning full cricket being played, no structures for development in place. Zimbabwe only deserves $5m

I love cricket but moment i hear there word ZC i feel sick.

The one guarantee is that Admin are about to award themselves a massive pay hike.

Cricket will never be more popular than soccer, that's completely incorrect. A miniscule percentage follow cricket, a smaller percentage actually watch it and a mere handful play it. My biggest fear is that we're going to watch the birth of massive grass roots scams. It's not a fear actually, it's what's coming like a hurricane.

It absolutely isn’t. Wrong again, as per.

Have you seen crowds at cricket games recently compared to football?
