Yes, an overseas tour, but definitely a cricket trip.Googly wrote:It looks like Bentley, but wrong era. Trevor Penny's era- so will be around 1984-1986 and possibly a Nuffield cricket photo but the beer is not South African, so they must have been on tour overseas. He was good at squash and hockey as well so may not even be a cricket pic

And the man in question did not take up any other sport too. A completely different profession.

Just a few more clues:
That Ranchod pic was also from the same photograph.
This guy did not play any FC or List A.

Re: Zimbabwe Cricket Photo Quiz
503. So, while you try to decipher who this is, I'll add another open question to see if this helps getting an answer for that one too. Our man from question 502 went on that overseas cricket trip with two other future Zimbabwe international cricketers - one was Ranchod, and the other is the subject of this question. Who is he? (obviously this is a more recent photo, not from the same trip)
Unfortunately, this man's international career was even more short lived than Ujesh Ranchod's.

Re: Zimbabwe Cricket Photo Quiz
Yup, the man with a solitary ODI cap vs NZ. Wonder why he did not get to play more though, he did not disgrace himself in that outing. In fact, Ranchod wasn't too horrible either, had decent economy when people around him were fetching plenty in the matches he played in. May be a controlling spinner wasn't the need at that time probably. They would have needed a wicket taken as against a controller. But Andy Whittall wasn't entirely a wicket taking option either among the offies of that time.foreignfield wrote:Eboo Essop-Adam?
OK, so our Qn.No. 502 played on that overseas trip with Ranchod, Eboo, Penney and others and left the country after a while, to make it big somewhere else. He also shares his surname with another former Zimbabwe International.

Re: Zimbabwe Cricket Photo Quiz
Let's reveal the answer for question number 502 then. It's none other than the journalist who shot to fame with "The Last Resort", Douglas Rogers.

Any relation to Barney Rogers?

Re: Zimbabwe Cricket Photo Quiz
I'd never guessed Douglas Rogers. Are we talking about a tour by "Young Zimbabwe" or something like that? I can't find any evidence of them touring, but the gentlemen in question have all played for that team, even a "D Rogers" once: http://cricketarchive.com/Archive/Score ... 42420.html
