Faraz is a great guy and a nice player but he's not going to make the grade at international level.
If you needed proof that Houghton doesn't always call the shots in selection look no further.
The seaming all rounder they have to persevere with is Evans.
Until someone else comes along he's the only choice. I don't mean that disparagingly either. Sure he's got to improve in both disciplines but a blind man can see he at least has the capacity.

The bowling just didn't have enough today. If Williams had been able to bowl a few I think things would have been different. Overall I think this at least keeps the series interesting. If we had won today we might have seen the full A team playing the next couple of games. A lot of our main guys still need the practice.

Evans hasn’t done much with either bat or ball for quite a while tbf. I thought he looked unfit in the 1st match actually, not sure if he’s carrying something.

There’s probably a case for playing Ngarava, Muzarabani and Chatara as the 3 seamers. It looks like a long tail but actually two of them have done more with the bat in recent times than Brad even….

Ngarava has a family bereavement I believe, that’s why he’s absent currently.

Also I think when Raza comes back, it basically means either Ervine or Wes have to open. So really they should be getting match practice doing so on this series. They need to front up now.

Ervine is struggling, it’s sad that he looks half the player he used to be. Hope he manages to go out with one last hurrah and finds some form.

Masakadza is captaining - is that confirmation that he will take over from Slug later in the year? I suppose the only choices are him or Burl really.

Ngarava's Mother sadly passed away the eve of the 1st one day match against Shaheens. It is only right that he has an extended break away from cricket for a bit, Maybe a few weeks

Yeah Evan’s is the best seamer all-rounder. He has potential in both batting and bowling. Unlike guys like Jongwe who can’t do either, or Chibhaba who could only bay decently.

Evans must be persistent with.

And Myers should have played all 6 games if he’s available. He is a must for the Qualifiers.

I think Myers got injured in the 4 day match. Not sure extent of injury but if he is better he should play. Would be very exciting especially with raza back soon

Bad light!!!! Ffs, lost on DLS.

I don't understand why they start at 9.15am - whats the harm in starting 15 mins earlier? Light is going to be a repeated issue at this time of year. Could affect the qualifiers.
I have always said that there should be very heavy penalties for teams failing to bowl their overs in time. The Shaheens can take over four hours to bowl their overs with complete impunity, and this may well have cost Zimbabwe the match.

A lot of selections seem very haphazard. Also very frustrating to see names occur regularly only for them to be sub standard. Are players not actually developing and learning?

Chatara has definiely cemented his spot for the qualifiers. Wouldn't be my first choice but can't argue with what he has done especially if the others can't and won't step up.

The Qualifiers are different kettle of fish. Teams have much higher quality players than the Shaheens. We can't expect to win with totals of 250 and less, at least not regularly. We really need to improve big time.

Also, if someone can tell me how to get a job like Matsi, please let me know. Would love to do nothing, travel the world, and get paid for it.
