Well, I think we have won our first morning of the match.

I actually hope it drizzles a little bit longer today. The biggest problem we have right now is that 5 sessions is enough time to chase down 350. That is about 150 overs.. so that's less than 3 an over. Hopefully these guys can grind out as much of the next session as possible. Tomorrow will be difficult to bat on even if the pitch is decent.

Do we want moisture getting into the pitch or more heat to help it break up?

Getting back to the Raza ton, have their been many better Zimbabwean ton's in test cricket? Considering it's overseas & he came to the crease at 4-23 in the second innings it must be way up there :4:

The 4th innings Taylor ton vs NZ in 2011 is the only one that compares from the post 2004 era, IMO.

Whats more important here, ensuring Zim get in a position where they cannot lose, or declare and give Cremer enough time to bowl SL out?

This wicket is still pretty flat and SL are unlikely to repeat the mistakes of the first innings again.

I reckon we should declare once the lead swells up to 400-420. That will give our bowlers enough time to bowl Sri Lanka out. The Sri Lankan batsmen will feel this target is chase-able and go after our bowlers which will help us with getting wickets.

We are effectively one ball away from being bowled out, so no need to contemplate declaring.
