This one lists it as third poorest in the world;

Not bad for a country not in war, lol.

Interestingly,
Australia is the only cricket playing country in the TOP ten, coming in at 6.

Calculated as GDP per person.
Dube, I wonder if you know anything about Zimbabwe. The country is largely an informal market type of thing explained by the unemployment rate of over 80%. But it don't mean that these people aren't making a living cause, they are. Something reinforce by the housing boom in the low to medium markets. This is like across the whole country. There are many other examples but these are mainly in the informal market hence these figures don't make your GDP indicating that Zim is a poor country. Also Zimbabwe had an exorbitant import bill over 8billion USD for a population of no more than 13million. All this money is made in Zimbabwe only to be spent else where. And bad policies which don't attract foreign direct investment that too don't help our cause. With the Chinese looting all the diamonds just bad governance through and through.

Zimbabwe has one of the largest unexplored lithium deposit in the world. That stuff is valued more than gold. More so that some of the stuff that's making your Australia be were it is.

But you do realise when you say Zimbabwe is not poor, its because of bad governance making it poor. Then its still poor.
You've just explained the reason, and you're most likely right.

But its still poor.

Zim people have to take their fair share of the blame, for continually voting Mugabe back in.
The man is beyond incompetent. He cant even walk straight anymore.

Or realise that he is reading a speech he already gave a few weeks ago that was given to him in error. I fear his wife is much worse and will take over once he dies.

Yep Tawac, you got it, zimbabwe is poor. No matter how you look at it, poor is poor.
You can't lose a game of cricket and say you actually won it because your captain made poor governance decisions and you fielded informal bowlers. A loss is a loss as poor is poor.
I see you're saying that Zim is potentially rich and she is, with all the land, minerals and sun. Potentially we could be as economically powerful as Rhodesia was, even on a par as smaller nations such as Malta, Cyprus. A one to one exchange rate with UK.
Potentially........

That's the sad part, zim seems so frustratingly easy to fix.
1. Dispose of Mugabe
2. Replace with a leader who wants peace and quality of improvement for zim.
3. This means the west lifts it's sanctions
4. Don't demonise the white minority, use their education and skills. Most want to help Zimbabwe!
5 the diaspora a inky the countries brightest ) may start to return.
6 export export the resources

Jobs go up, money goes up. Only drawback is you'll get the rest of Africa trying to sneak into zim.

You're missing the picture all together. Africa must never be dictated to! - that's the lesson all leaders in the continent have learnt all thanks to Mugabe. Further to that Gaddafi was prepared to go but look what they went ahead and did instead, and now the whole world is suffering with migration as a result.

The bottomline is everyone wants a white face in there because they don't trust a black face. Wilson Manase is qualified, educated, experienced and widely acknowledged to be a good and competent man in this forum - but he would never have achieved what some of you claim he did if he didn't have a white face (Alistair Campbell) next to him...yet Campbell is a dirty crook. Who would a normal reasoning and ethical businessperson or organisation prefer to deal with - Manase or Campbell?

The West can lift up sanctions on Africans terms or go hang. The whole of Europe will be majority Islam in the next 10 or so years, plus 40% of the US is non-white. Zimbabwe doesn't have to do anything. The West will go to Zimbabwe eventually.

The enemy of ZANU-PF isn't really whites, it happens to be anyone who is educated and can think for themselves. They are only interested in mindless drones who can recite slogans and follow orders.

Are you saying Zimbabwe is therefore economically successful?
