Not the greatest keeping from Regis - hope he settles down. Otherwise one has to seriously ask why he got the nod ahead of Foster. Like to have see Meth in as well. As it stands we have managed to lenghten the tail while playing a bowler less.

Mutizwa at 7 and Meth at 8 would have looked a lot stronger

I simply do not get this. I hear all the talk from you guys Ncube ahead of Meth, Chakabva ahead of Forster - how is it than none of you has said why Ncube ahead of Elton? This is a TEST match for crying out loud and we only have one of them per series, despite the fact that it's the Tuskers' home ground how can you choose Ncube (or Meth) who's palyed a single ODI ahead of Elton! He's experienced, and his bowling is very much up to standard! As for Chakabva ahead of Forster - push comes to shove Taylor should've kept wicket, and you put in a second spinner if you must(against my firm 3+1) - he doesn't add that much value as captain anyway since a lot is dictated to him. It's better than this! As it is they've picked a better keeper - Chakabva, ahead of a better batsman - Forster and the seamers are too quick to stand up to, while we have just one specialist spinner who it must be said doesn't turn it much. Surely we could've gone without a specialist keeper and someone to fill in this once.

Because it was known ahead of time that Elton is carrying a niggle, and that his selection was doubtful as a result.hhm wrote:how is it than none of you has said why Ncube ahead of Elton?

Jarvis vs Guptill&McCullum is pretty much stealing candy from a baby. To make matters worse you put in a NOVICE Ncube. GUYS, IF YOU DON'T BUY INTO MY REASONING YOU WILL DO SO THE HARD WAY. This is rubbish!!!1 Absolute nonsense!

It is a better side than I was expecting.
I thought Chigs was carrying an injury. Agree about Forster and Chakabva.

Must've missed that one. Thanks.maehara wrote:Because it was known ahead of time that Elton is carrying a niggle, and that his selection was doubtful as a result.hhm wrote:how is it than none of you has said why Ncube ahead of Elton?
Smart move letting Rainsford go then isn't it! Makes it even more stupid that they didn't go with him.

It is hard to see where 20 wickets will come from for us in this match.hhm wrote:Jarvis vs Guptill&McCullum is pretty much stealing candy from a baby. To make matters worse you put in a NOVICE Ncube. Ncube, I am happy to see him get a chance although I would rather see Chatara given a go. In the absence of Ncube and Chatara I really do not know who else we would pick. Panyangara - no, Rainsford is injury prone. So who else is there ?

Has he suddenly change from being a useless medium pace trundler to being injury prone?Zimfanatic69 wrote:...Rainsford is injury prone....

Re: [Match Thread] Zimbabwe v New Zealand: Test Match
That was going to be a problem whoever we picked for this series - New Zealand have our bowling pretty much sussed. But I have no problems with Ncube's selection - he managed to get some early results out of the QSC pitch in the 3rd ODI, and while he went for a pasting at the end of that innings, so did everyone else. It's more Chakabva's selection I have a problem with.Zimfanatic69 wrote:It is hard to see where 20 wickets will come from for us in this match.
