Re: Phantom Draft
We knew the price that we had to pay for exercising the veto would be to lose out first two top order batsmen choices, Regis and Vusi. Regis was inches away from grabbing the vice captaincy at Mountaineers, and Vusi would have reunited the national team opening combo at Mutare. Not to be, but we will wait for the clarity on the Regis pick before we announce our new signing...

Eagles will not exercise their veto on Chakabva. He is available to all clubs.

Re: Phantom Draft
Well, with that becoming clear, we would like to propose sealing our top order by bringing in the exciting young talent, Nick Welch to MSC. We are sure he is going to progress very well under the guidance of Gary Brent off the field and under Hamilton Masakadza on it.

You can be sure of scenes like these, in days to come... (just replace Byrom with Welch): http://zimcricketforums.com/viewtopic.p ... 234#p45646

Re: Phantom Draft
Under the Masakadza ruling, you are able veto Welch as a veteran as he hasn't represented any other domestic FC teams in the last 10 years.
Re: Phantom Draft
The selectors at ZC would be shocked that there is a 'stoush' over Nick Welch when Timmy Maruma is still available ......

Welch is a Mashonaland veteran.

Re: Phantom Draft
Whilst this is an extremely tough decision, Mash Eagles would like to exercise the veto on Nick Welch.

Re: Phantom Draft
Understandable. Once we opened the Pandora's box with Shingi's veto, we knew we would be in trouble with either Regis or Welch. The Rhinos did not give us an opportunity to go for Regis, so Welch it was. Anyway, good luck to the young lad, and as his dad says, hope he has a long career for Mashonaland (and Zimbabwezimbos_05 wrote:Whilst this is an extremely tough decision, Mash Eagles would like to exercise the veto on Nick Welch.

We instead latch on to Richie Mutumbami.
