Please be advised that the following players will sit out of this week's ongoing domestic franchise games due to injuries sustained while they were on national team duty.
ZC will keep you updated on their conditions.
Elton Chigumbura
Elton Chigumbura is recovering from a left abdominal side muscle strain injury sustained on tour. The national team physiotherapist has advised that Elton miss the ongoing first class four day game in Mutare this week while the player continues with physiotherapy and rehabilitation exercises. Further to this it is expected that Elton will be bowling fit in a week's time, and will be available for selection for the ensuing limited overs game on Saturday the 21st.
Raymond Price
Raymond Price developed an atypical skin rash and friction mediated live skin stretch "warts" during the just ended tour of Bangladesh-primarily as a result of the heat and humidity of the environment. Since this is a medical condition, Raymond Price's doctor has advised the player to rest from playing until his condition has resolved, with the projected prognosis of five to seven days. The player will therefore miss the ongoing round of matches for his team.
Prosper Utseya
Prosper Utseya is still recovering from a left ankle injury he picked up in Bangladesh and one he aggravated in the short MTN ODI series against South Africa last week. While he has shown good improvement since he has been back home and getting rest and physiotherapy, he still needs a week or so to recondition the joint back to match fitness. The national team physiotherapist has advised that Prosper miss the ongoing four day franchise game in Mutare and look to avail himself for the limited overs game on Saturday. Further to this Prosper will be with the team in Mutare, which means his rehabilitation will be monitored on a day to day basis.
Tatenda Taibu
Tatenda Taibu sustained a left thigh muscle strain injury in Dhaka, Bangladesh which was further aggravated when he played against South Africa last week. Tatenda will therefore require some considerable time to recover and regain match fitness. As such he will sit out of the ongoing and following round of franchise games as he continues to receive physiotherapy and rehabilitation.

Re: Injury List
How far away is Sean williams from playing?
Re: Injury List
I wonder what was the logic behind allowing these players to go onto the SA MTN tour when they where carrying these injuries. Utseya bowled well in the second game but his fielding was off. Taibu wasnt his usual self behind the wickets. Why play someone whose not 100% fit in the first? Does this mean we do not have the depth in our domestic league to replace these players?
CHRISTOPHER MPOFU: 'The problem was fear of failure. I used to think that when I played, if I didn't do well in one game, I would lose my place for the next one but now I've let go of that'
Re: Injury List
surely poor decision making risking injured players in SA, it was an opportunity to try out other combinations as we got so many players knocking on the door for the first team, i bet ZC learnt from their mistake.
