It looks like Pakistan has one the toss and elected to field.
[Match Thread] Zimbabwe A v Pakistan A 1st Unofficial ODI
Re: [Match Thread] Zimbabwe A v Pakistan A 1st Unofficial OD
Waller captaining the side how racist. Raza included as well. No Chigumbura. This is closer to being a national side proper than an A side

Yes. Sibanda, Waller, Regis, Richie, Raza, Madziva - looks more like National Discards XI than A side. But yes, game time for Madziva, Chari, Musakanda, Mufudza and Mumba welcome. Let us see what they can bring to the table consistently. Would have definitely played Nyauchi too ahead of Chatara / Madziva.

Plenty of games to come I reckon the likes of Nyauchi will get a look in. Wonder if Mpariwa is already in Aussie.

Musakanda is definitely one for the future and its great that he isn't even 21 yet but he is playing quality opposition. no need to rush him anywhere yet. he should play a couple more domestic seasons. its also very unfortunate that Burl got injured because the amount of game time the A side has gotten this year would have gone a long way in improving his game. one of The few positive things the board has done. in the last year or so Ireland Afghanistan Bangladesh A South Africa A Pakistan A Sri Lanka Emerging and the full strength NZ team have played against our A side.

Mufudza picks a second wicket good him. We do seem a bowler short Musakanda/Raza/Waller to share the fifth bowler duties perhaps. Were are the allrounders Nathan Waller perhaps.

Not much of a performance here, but that Pakistan side does look reasonably strong.
Musakanda, Mufudza and Mumba encouraging. More senior guys like Sibanda, Waller, Raza, Chakabva and Chatara not so much. A few more games this series (and the Africa T20 at the weekend), so plenty more opportunities to make a good impression.

what's becoming clear to me is that the senior guys are just used to losing. I know its harsh judging from 1 game but to see that not even 1(maybe 1 if u include Raza's 40) of them out of 5 or 6 of them stood out of the crowd against Pakistan A is concerning. hopefully the next couple of games can prove me wrong but I honestly think the long term solution is getting rid of at least 90% of these guys by slowly easing in the young and hungry new generation. we will never consistently win games with guys who have been losing all their lives but u can see the difference in performances from young Musakandas and Mumbas who don't have that culture in them.
