Zimbabwe's left-arm fast bowler Brian Vitori has been reported for a suspected illegal action during the tri-series final against Sri Lanka on Sunday, which the hosts lost by six wickets .

The match officials handed over their report to the Zimbabwe management, citing concerns about the legality of Vitori's action during the final. He bowled nine overs in the match for figures of 3 for 52 in his first ODI since July 2015.

Vitori had been suspended from bowling in international cricket in February this year after he was reported for a suspect action during a T20 against Bangladesh in January. He underwent assessment in Chennai and found all his deliveries exceeded the 15-degree level of tolerance permitted under ICC's regulations. His action was later found legal in June, after remedial work and a re-test performed at the University of Pretoria. The tri-series final is the only international match he has played since then.

With Vitori being reported again, he will be required to submit to further testing within 14 days. He is, however, permitted to continue bowling in international cricket until the results of the testing are known.

It used to be just his effort bouncer that looked really out of limits, but quite a few of his deliveries the other day weren't good. He's going to struggle to get it right and will be a yard slower if he does, he may lose his swing as well.
There was once a rule that once you'd been tested and cleared you couldn't be called again, that's obviously not the case anymore.

If Vitori needs to cut down his pace (& swing) then that's trouble for Zim.

This is really rubbish. Vitori is not chucking, troubling the batsman with swing doesn't mean chucking. Time for Zimbabwe Cricket Management to revolt

We're just not meant to have good fast bowlers .....

Looking back to 2013 and I though we might actually have a decent attack with some pace evolving. KJ was really hitting his straps, Vitori was around and Chatara was emerging but now KJ is gone Larry might not ever be the same and Vitori keeps getting called for chucking .....

I'm pretty sure we only ever got 1 ODI v BD with all 3 playing ......

Lots of thoughts here:

1) i think Taskin could easily get called again as his action is almost indentical to when he got banned. He is still "visibly" chucking. However, multiple angle at slow motion reveal only minimal extension most likely within the 15 degree limit. For this reason, i believe Taskin was banned due to an erroneous testing result or technical error. He's played 6 ODIs and I hope he gets called and tested a 3rd time. Should he pass without changing his axtion it would.prove he never should have been reported to begin with. The ICC had to retract Kusal Perera's doping ban due to similar technical over conclusions.

2) If Vitori is still chucking, it really recks the validity of their testing procedures. I was surprised when Vitori passed his test so quickly because his action was the worst I've seen.

3) only took 1 game to get reported so it appears ZC have been reluctant to pick him for that reason.
