Logan Cup points system 2010/11

Post by Train Driver »

I've just seen that, according to our friends at cricinfo, the points system has been totally revamped this season

"Points will be allocated as below

a) Outright win : 6

b) tie : 3

c) First innings lead : 1"

Interesting, but is it true ?

Logan Cup table on the front page of http://www.zimcricket.org/ matches the Cricinfo one, so yes, it seems to be accurate.

I also notice it's the Castle Logan Cup this year. Can't remember it being sponsored before...

Castle sponsored the Logan Cup about 10 years ago, so this is a nice case of history repeating itself.

That's a good system, nice and simple.

Finally a points system that can be understood. The previous systems seemed very bizarre with things like giving the team with the whitest uniforms bonus points and the player who drinks the most at the drinks break a gold-star.
