Ireland and Porterfield poised to leave Gloucestershire
Monday, September 27, 2010, 07:00
ANTHONY Ireland and Will Porterfield are set to rock Gloucestershire cricket by walking out on the county.
Out of contract at the end of last season, the pair have been offered new deals to stay in Bristol. But the Evening Post can reveal swing bowler Ireland and opening batsman Porterfield have agreed to move to the capital to further their careers.
Ireland has agreed terms with Division Two rivals Middlesex and will join a squad that includes England fast bowler Steve Finn for next season.
Porterfield is set to move to London neighbours Surrey in a bid to further his ambitions of playing Test cricket.
The news will come as a huge blow to Gloucestershire, who have already lost England A bowler Steve Kirby to Somerset and are now facing the disintegration of their team.

Well we now need to move on.
If he wants to abandon his country, so be it, we don't need him

Yeah no thanks matethanu wrote:Roofing felt helps the loft space stay dry if any tiles come loose, leaks run down the felt rather than drip onto ceilings.
At some point, you would need to strip off old tiles, re-felt and re-batten. Not hugely expensive in the great scheme of things.

None of the press releases about the signing have said either way, but speaking to some Middlesex fans, they believe it's a Kolpak deal.shumbat wrote:is this a Kolpack signing or what, we need this guy to lead our attack
