A former Scotland cricket captain has set up a niche recruitment company focused on IT.
Ryan Watson hopes Entrust People, based in Aberdeen, can work with organisations across the UK sourcing computing specialists of all levels. Zimbabwe-born Watson said: "When I relocated to the UK in 1998 to play cricket I also started training as a resourcing consultant for the IT sector. It has always been my intention to go out on my own, to do things in my own way and be successful in doing so.
"Entrust People is run by fully trained and experienced IT recruiters. This means that we can provide an optimum service, in terms of using our knowledge to match the right person to the right job and to the right company, which is already proving popular.
"Being a specialist is crucial - knowing and understanding the companies, candidates and job roles inside out is fundamental to being a successful consultancy.
Entrust has launched with three employees with an intention to hire two more in the next 12 months. It is projected to reach a six-figure turnover in its first year of trading.
Watson, who captained the Scottish cricket team for two years, is the country's leading run scorer at domestic and international level.
