...with 79 points from this season's votes, Prosper Utseya.
Craig Ervine was the nearest challenger (69.5 points), with Ed Rainsford and Brendan Taylor joint third on 46. Most people's favourite, Ray Price, came 4th with 44 points.
You can find the full table & voting history here.
No prize, sadly - I'm not made of money! - but given Prosper's performances with the ball this season, it's well-deserved.

I would add his performance with he bat and especially the last game against SA in Benoni Prosper qwas ghoing at the batsmen and he played a couple of handy innings down the order.

Prosper has really done post-captaincy. I must say I am a bit surprised that Ed Rainsford finished ahead of Price. I like Rainsford but I don't remember him doing much.

42 of Ed's 46 points came from the Ireland series, where he was on fire (10 wickets in 3 matches at 11.5). Not much elsewhere.eugene wrote:Prosper has really done post-captaincy. Congrats Prosper you deserve it. It's good to witness redemption. If you can do it, Chiggs can too.

Given that there was never really a series he dominated like Rainsford did, perhaps this pattern of voting reflects a level of consistency for the player throughout the whole year?
Probably finished ahead of Price though because Price didn't play in that South African series.
But well done Prosper. He just comes back and proves everyone wrong

Actually, having seen the tallies and noticed that Taylor got 39pnts in that South African series, am not so sure anymore if Price playing in it wld have been enough to overtake Prosper.Conant wrote:Given that there was never really a series he dominated like Rainsford did, perhaps this pattern of voting reflects a level of consistency for the player throughout the whole year?

So again well done Prosper. Thoroughly well deserved!
