[Match Thread] Zimbabwe XI vs South Africa A
SA A batting first, 1/21 after 7 overs. Another economical start by Zim, Meth 1/7 after a couple of overs.

Utseya does have 3/35 from 8 overs so far, so there must be something there for the spinners. But I do agree, given how well Mpofu and Meth have gone Vitori might get a look in soon.
Mpofu just took the huge wicket of Rudolph on 98, that is a massive breakthrough. South Africa A are now 187/5 (40.4 ov), another wicket and Zimbabwe XI will be into the tail.

how's the wicket playing? Haven't been to Harare Sports Club so far this series and it seems as if it's been difficult for the team batting second.
Vusi, Mawoyo, H.Masakadza, Taylor, Ervine, Williams, Mutumbami, S.Masakadza, Meth, Price, Jarvis

9/238 after 50 overs. Another impressive bowling performance, Meth shined with 3/36 and Utseya 4/49. Mpofu economical with 1/43. If it wasn't for the partnership between Rudolph and Kuhn, South Africa A would have ended up with a very modest total.
The situation now is not too dissimilar to the first match. As you mention takleg, teams batting second have had a hard time so hopefully Zimbabwe can buck that trend today.
takleg do you live near Harare? I think I read somewhere that it's free entry for all of the games in this series (good decision by ZC), if you drop by be sure to let us know how the team is looking.

Very good bowling by Utseya and rapidly adjusting Meth. The opening is good, cautious start with 40 runs in first ten.

Not a bad start to the Zimbabwean innings, 0/40 after 10 overs. Taylor 32, Sibanda 8.

True, Sibanda needs to rotate the strike a bit more though, either that or hit some boundariesbrmtaylor.com admin wrote:Not a bad start to the Zimbabwean innings, 0/40 after 10 overs. Taylor 32, Sibanda 8.

And,his painfully slow innings end. I dont think he is a right choice at the top.jimbo wrote:True, Sibanda needs to rotate the strike a bit more though, either that or hit some boundariesbrmtaylor.com admin wrote:Not a bad start to the Zimbabwean innings, 0/40 after 10 overs. Taylor 32, Sibanda 8.
