You are wrong, Dr Situ. I'm sure that Duffin didn't captain Zimbabwe in tests. He played 2 tests against India in 2005 under the captaincy of Taibu.

But Duffin did captain Zimbabwe in his ODI debut against Kenya.

I remember him playing in his debut test where he hit 50 against India. I might have mixed ODI captaincy with Tests. Yup he led in Carribean and it was the time when Chibhabha blossomed and Rinke withered.

Duffin played very well in that particular innings and I also think that he will be definitely in contention when Zimbabwe will regain test stats. And for Chibhabha, I would like to say it was only the Carribean series where I liked his batting very much. He was playing shots in the off side terrifically. Don't know if he changed his technique afterwards or I stopped liking his batting

Since we're only a couple of months away from the beginning of the World Cup, I think we should open a thread and make a squad of players that would be in contention for being selected.

Okay so first of all lets make a preliminary squad of 30. In the squad we need to consider the guys who have proved their worth so far in first class cricket. So what I'll do is pick 30 guys, and then have a discussion of who should be in the squad. If anybody disagrees with selection, feel free to add or replace a player or too

Both Ewing and Mahwire have appeared at the test level. Kamungozi has done OK in the ODIs he played for Zimbabwe. But I won't pick him in the preliminary squad.

For Ewing and Mahwire, banking on experience rather than anything else. To show them they are in the list of top 30 cricketers of Zimbabwe...
