20 years ago they played 8/3 local ratio now its flipped.
Here is their WC squad.

I'm pretty sure most if not all of their Indian players were born and raised in Kenya and know only Kenya.

Saying there's too many Indians in their team is a bit like if you were saying there is too many whites in ours? No?
No because white people brough the game to Zim, and ran it themselves and are still the better players and are only being sidelined for politics.
That would be more apt if the game was originally all black and whites muscled in, and that would be a criticism of ZC chasing blacks away.

Different situation completely.
Think you've had a mare here.

Not really sure how you can complain there isn't enough White players in the Zim XI but then complain there is too many Indian players in the Kenyan XI.

I reckon the best eligible local XI should be selected? I don't know enough about current Kenyan cricket and I assume you don't either to suggest with any confidence that the Indian guys in their team are not deserving of their spots. They all appear to be Kenyan citizens, born there and learnt cricket there.

Uganda handing passports to 3 of their players 2 weeks before the tournament started is a bit more sketchy, yes, but for most of the other associates, around the world almost always the Asians in their teams are the best available players. Suggesting they select shitter 'local', 'native' players of the right colour instead is basically saying you support everything that was bad about ZC at its very worst.

In Kenya, as in most countries, sports like cricket and rugby are upper-middle-class/upper-class undertakings. You go to the country clubs with a black majority membership, and you will find that they have very strong rugby clubs, but no cricket. I'm talking Nondies, Mwamba, Nakuru Club. The members' clubs with any sort of active cricket culture continue to be the ones the Kenyan Asians have majority memberships, e.g. Gymkhana (Nairobi and Mombasa) Sir Ali Muslim Club, Sikh Union and so on.

Complaining is not the right term, if they are the best then they deserve it, but its boring.
The meat of it was the local kenyans have lost interest.

Well ya clearly their cricket has fell off a cliff the past 15 years and probably their development programmes are close to zero.

I don’t really care about ethnicity when watching these teams as long as the players are products of their system - I think that’s the distinction. Seems like basically all of the guys in the Kenyan team played age group and U19 cricket for them.

I take much more issue with Uganda who seem to have rushed eligibility/passports for some Asian guys. Glad it backfired on them.

Italy, who will be in the World Cup, should be raising more ire than any of these other teams. Literally none of their entire squad learnt the game in Italy. They are mostly white so social media seems to have less of an issue with it. Without them their team would basically be old Lanzoni on his own

Places like UAE - I mean it’s quite representative, South Asians form the vast majority of their population. Other teams like HK get loads of abuse - but almost all of their Asian players over the years grew up there and speak Chinese!

Kenya are a legit team and the ethnicity of their squad raises no concerns. They are hardly flying in guys from India and Pakistan to make up the numbers.

Doggy is basically saying he prefers it like the way it was at the 2003 World Cup, a full black Kenyan team and a full white Zimbabwean team :D :D
