8 runs needed off the last over to win the Test
A wicket has just fallen, and Chris "The Walking Wicket" Mpofu is thankfully at the non-strikers end.
Who do you want walking out to bat now?
You CANNOT pick a player who has played a Test/ODI/T20I. And you cannot pick a retired/past player.

I agree with your first two. Kasuza came to mind for the third one too.

Can I go for Kimberley Robinson, especially if the bowler is a wrist spinner .......

If Mpofu has already come in ahead of this guy in Test match and its the final over on day 5, Mpofu couldn't have been a night watchman. Thus, any batsman entering would be a tailender batting even behind Mpofu. That rules out Murray, Schadendorf, or any other batsman. Only guy after Mpofu would be a a genuine #11.
How about Cuthbert Musoko?

Have to agree with Kriterion

Daniel Jakiel. For obvious reasons. Even if he couldn't hit the ball, in fear the ball would send itself to the fence twice. That is if he isn't playing in the Caribbean Premier League at the time of the match.

Guys, guys, there are plenty of ways in which Mpofu coming in to bat with batsmen still in the hut possible. One of them:Jemisi wrote:Have to agree with Kriterion
Mpofu came in as the night watchman at the end of the 4th day, with some 50 runs to get and Zim 5 wickets down, and Zim shielding their remaining batsmen from more damage overnight - especially debutants like TJS / Murray / Chapungu. Chapungu would obviously take flight the next morning .
But it rained a lot overnight and the next day too, and they only started play half an hour after tea break. It was a race against time to win at Galle with Herath bowling at his best. Musakanda gets out in the penultimate over after almost guiding us home while Mpofu gave him company till then (Musakanda shielding him well), and enter TJS / Murray / Chapungu. History is made at Galle.

Possibility 2:
We are indeed 9 wickets down, but TJS / Murray / Chapungu, who had retired hurt earlier in the day with a fractured thumb - due to the searing bouncer from Starc that he could not avoid at the pacey WACA - strides out to bat bravely as Starc readies himself up again. Thankfully Tiripano made sure he crossed over when he skied a ball uncharacteristically in the last ball of the penultimate over, after scoring an all important 27. Now, TJS / Murray / Chapungu to guide us home with 2 hits to the boundary.

Well done, CA.
Totally didn't take possibility 1 into account...very likely given how much it rains in SL!
