Don't really understand why Morris is being spoken about in the same breath as Steyn Philander and Morkel? Yeah he is fairly quick but I really wouldn't put him in the same category as the other three on any level.
Caus he can bat , the World is obsessed with bits and piece cricketers these days. Can never just pick your best 4 bowlers and 6 best bats and your keeper
Favourite playing xi

3. B.Taylor (c)
4. M.Goodwin
5. S.Williams
6. T.Taibu ( wk )

What choice do they have considering Morris' Test bowling average is twice that of Andile Phehlukwayo plus Ngidi coming through the ranks?

Philander is the primary bowling allrounder anyway

Markram
Elgar(c)
Amla
Bavuma
AB
QdK(wk)
Philander
Morris

Maharaj
Steyn
Morkel

There's a great chance that Rabada might be rested with those in bold playing for match fitness.

Ngidi very unfortunate not to play, and ZIM extremely fortunate not to face him.

Please don’t make the foolish mistake of arguing for Phelukwayo. He’s absolute garbage. Ngidi is so inconsistent too, when he’s good he’s good, but when he’s bad he’s abysmal. Stop pretending he’s as good a Test bowler as Steyn, Morkel, or Philander. He’s nowhere close. If he was white you wouldn’t even mention his name.

Phehlukwayo's bowling isn't test standard yet. As it stands he should only be 10th in line at absolute best, but I still maintain that he has the potential to be a superior cricketer to what both Morris and Parnell are now within two or three years.

from our perspective I have really been trying to think whether Regis is worth the risk against some quality fast bowling in conditions which will favour them. something tells me that if we are going to go with a 7-4 its better we play PJ as the keeper and add Chamu up top because he plays pace fairly well and he will also offer assistance with the ball. PJ should be ok because I don't think Cremer will come into play as much as he usually does. I can almost see Regis right now losing confidence with our backs to the wall and skying a bouncer within 10 deliveries.

I would go with something like this.

Chamu
Mire
Hami
BT
Ervine
Raza
PJ(wk)
Cremer
Jarvis
Muzarabani (I really don't see Bobby or Don threatening)
Chatara

This tour match will determine a lot. let's see who performs.

Andile is currently a first choice pick for the ODI side, that's it. He simply is not a test match cricketer. However, in the limited over formats I reckon he gets in on merit, without a doubt. Little medium pace and can crack the ball hard!

This XI makes a lot of sense with Chamu getting a look in, but is Regis really that bad with the bat? He has a good footwork which quite a few others lack in this line up so it might not be too bad to bet on him scoring a few runs I would have thought. He did quite decently on debut in NZ in seaming conditions too, but yeah, that was long long ago. If we are going in with this XI, I'd rather have BT keep instead of PJ. I remember PJ dropping catches off pacers too, not just Cremer. But yeah, PJ at 7 as batsman definitely induces more confidence in the lineup that Malcolm at 7.

One thing boggles my mind. How can people categories a player as not being test quality yet are happy to see Mire opening the batting for Zim.

I just think on a good day Mire may come good. But in the long run he wont really do a job. We seriously need to look else where. Petty Mawayo may as well switched careers.
