The Impressive Kyle Jarvis

Post by sloandog »

Having whatched Zimbabwe for the fist time in 2 and a half years on my own Tv screen, one very young man imprssed me :D Kyle Jarvis. In previous threads i stated that he may not have been the young pace sensation that everybody had been craving about. I TAKE THAT BACK !! 100% !! He was consistantly bowling around the 137kph mark (85mph) and even managed to crank up to an amzing 148kph !! (92mph). Now that's fast !! Andy Blibnaut pace in his prime, maybe quicker. We've unearthed a gem hear, and Heath Streak, Campbell and all the backroom staff need to nurture him as best they can, because i tell you what.....i saw a bowler who is strong, physically correct, agressive and above all quick !! His line and length will come with time, what he needs is game time. Does anybody agree with me >> ?? :D :D :D :D :D :W:

Agree 100% he is going to be a star but it will take time and there is a lot of hard work ahead of him but if he puts the time in with Streak he will be very sucessfull in the years to come.

i agree with use both, if we have a kid that is in his early 20s and bowling in the 140s this is great news.
His line and length will come in time and with the right help.

I couldnt agree more with you Sloandog. Jarvis is indeed a gem. You know his quite like a flower. Young and tender. But you can see that one day its gonna blossom and give to a feast for your eyes. I think he is our best find in a very long time. But like any other flower needs, he needs guidance and someone to pull out the weeds. He is rather lucky to come onto the scene now because he will have a lot of experienced guys around him like you have already mentioned the likes of Streak and etc. Not only that if he goes on to play for Eagles he will have Price, Silverwood, Hondo in the wings and lately Strang which would be great for the young lad. He obviously has the marks of a great bowler (but I wasnt too impressed by his slower ball, he needs to have a chat with Mupariwa perhaps) lets hope he goes on to be the best Zim has ever produced.
CHRISTOPHER MPOFU: 'The problem was fear of failure. I used to think that when I played, if I didn't do well in one game, I would lose my place for the next one but now I've let go of that'

Agree 100%. He needs the new ball at both Eagles and national team. He's going to be expensive but we'll be glad when we resume Test. He's ESSENTIAL.

He is a nice change from the usual trundlers we have bowling in the pace department. Lets hope he can ebcome Zimbabwe's version of Shane Bond!
