Fingers crossed for another day of playable weather tomorrow
No worries for bad weather today. Its a bright and clear sunny morning in the Sunshine city of Harare. Vusi Sibanda, is this the "rebirth" of the Zimbabwean Batsman. He has shown pure class but has never been able to get the big scores. His average of 21 at the start of the season will tell you that. But he was added a lot of respect to his figures and his avg. has shot up to 30. Lets hope he keeps the momentum.
But being the Eagles fan I am, we wont allow him to do that on our account. I hope the lads will come out charged up today and rap up these Rhinos innings.

Very odd considering the Harare weather forecast from tawac, cricinfo are showing 'match delayed' an hour after the 2nd day should have got underway, maybe it's just a technical problem.
Exactly as i write this cricinfo have just burst into life showing 286-6, get your sunglasses on to watch some more Rhino runs tawac
You'll be a happy man tawac, Rhinos appear to have self-destructed as 311-6 has become 312 all out after the dismissal of Sibanda for 153, Garwe the man to do the damage with 3 wickets after Chigumbura made the breakthrough.
Eagles currently 26-1 in the 7th over, Mufambisi ct Wessels b Muzarabani 14, Mwakayeni 6*, Mutizwa 4*

Right on man. Rhinos only adding 32 runs to their over night score. Great work from Trevor Garwe (3/33) seems to be growing with each outing. Its a pity Tafadzwa Mufambisi goes early. He seemed to have came out guns blazing hitting two boundaries but there is no need for that just the percentage shots will bring us home. Mutizwa and Lamb showed the depth we have against Mountaineers lets hope they will carry on from where they left.

Top effort by that man Sibanda, i rate this as his best knock for the Rhinos so far as it was against easily the best attack in the first class scene. It will be intresting wether his comback in the national side will be as an opener or as a number four batsman.
Another man who is making a strong case for selection is Mutizwa who has been scoring runs consistantly for the last two years and now perhaps deserves an extended run in the national side
would anyone object him opening alongside Masakadza?
If anything Mutizwa has shown that he has a cool head and that would be ideal for a third batsman spot just to stabilise things and keep the board ticking at the same time. Vusi has always opened for the National team so I guess he would open alongside Masakadza with Taylor coming at number 4, Taibu etc... So Mark Vermuelen really needs to pull up his socks if he is to be part of the team.

Eagles certainly showing that the Rhinos collapse this morning was nothing to do with the wicket, 185-1 at tea with Mutizwa 96* and Mwakayeni 66*.
I don't think anyone could argue the right for Mutizwa to be considered number one in line for any National batting vacancy now, after recent displays i would have thought that Coventry is at risk of losing his place as well as Vermeulen, Matsikenyeri must be very relieved that he's found some form lately.
Top effort from Foster Mutizwa 107* his fouth first class hunderd and Eagles move 200/1 they are in a good position to eclipse the Rhinos score.
And just to point out TrainDriver, Matsikinyere has been one of the more consistant batsman on the local scene and for the national team as well. He has made it difficult for the selectors to drop him. Im sure that number 6 position is his. Its the likes of Coventry, Vermuelen who really need to up thier game if the are to stay in the side.

Totally agree tawac, everybody was after Matsikenyeri a few months ago, his form was not good at all and he kept saving himself with one decent performance every so often, recently though he's hit some great form and seems to have returned to being the player that made so many good headlines when he first made the National side, good for him and very good for Zim cricket.
Rhinos have made a breakthrough at last, Mwakayeni out to Cremer for 70, just short of his career best. Mutizwa still going strong on 118*, along with the new man Butterworth, with Lamb, Chigumbura and Chakabva still to come.

Loving every moment of the Eagles innings. And we have plenty of fire power left in the bag ey. Rhinos should be scratching thier heads now as thier bowlers seem to have forgotten how to take wickets. The game is very balanced at this point but going into day 3 Eagles should be looking to get a good lead so that they have enough time to bowl this Rhino side out again
