It's a good point you've brought up there Jamthala, however its a point i disagree with. I think there's better players in Zimbabwe in terms of spin bowling. Ray Price, Graeme Cremer, T.Maruma, Dylan Higgins, Mabuza, Prosper Utsea....the list is endless. And Kamungozi has had his chance in the 2006 Champions Trophy. He didnt perform well there atall. So until he shows some consistant and solid domestic performances, he's in the back of my mind in terms of National selection.

Kamungozi's Champions Trophy 2006 Statistics aren't too bad actually.

20-0-93-3 with a best of 2/55.

Kamungozi seemed to fall off the radar like so many players. Whatever happened to Donald Samunderu for example?
Neil Johnson, Alistair Campbell, Murray Goodwin, Andy Flower (w), Grant Flower, Dave Houghton, Guy Whittall, Heath Streak (c), Andy Blignaut, Ray Price, Eddo Brandes

Kamungozi has been playing (not very well) for the Southern Rocks all season. His figures aren't very good, and I think he was dropped for the last round of games. Hilary Matanga and Steve Tikolo have been outbowling him.

Donald Samunderu is in SA at Uni, but says that he may well be back in Zim to play in the Logan Cup next year.

1.Riki Wassels( great player fast, good strikerate, some few superb knock in his few matches)
2.Hamilton masakadza
3.Tatenda Taibu(only player who can bat till 50 overs ,he needs a partner, coming up the order will prevent flow of wickets)
4.Sean Williams
5.Charles Coventry
6.Brendon Taylor
7.Greg Lamb(leading runScorer and Wicket Taker, provides option of a bowler who can be given 10 overs if some bowlers prove costly)
8.Elton Chigumbura
9.Trever Garwe/G.Cremer
10.R.Price
11.K.Jarvis

if RikiWassels do not play then Send taylor up and include both Cremer and Garwe in the side...
opening bowler
jarvis
garwe
if garwe goes for runs change him with Chigumbura
then price and Lamb for 10-10 overs each
so Jarvis 10,Price 10,Garwe 10, Chigumbura,lamb,masakadza,williams share rest 20
this is only odi team test team i have written seperatly in dreamXi

I must admit that i haven't seen too much cricket, sadly. Every time i make it home it's away or i have missed it by a few days. That Being said looking at the stats there are a lot of valid points to every argument.

It's nice to see healthy competition, i think of the New Zealand side and there is not nearly as many players pushing for selection. It's lovely to see.

I think that Taylor id definily going to be part, and a big part of the Zim side in the coming years. It's probably best to not try and select a best starting line-up but a squad of players. Say a group of up to 18-20 players to allow for injury and loss of form in the coming years. This way you can bring in a new player and he will be familiar with the coaches and systems and will be able to hit the ground running.
