Just hope they find a coach that doesn’t value job security
Tell me why they cannot just go bankrupt and start a new organisation like Zimbabwean board of cricket with new fresh faces and no debt?
When Faisal Hasnain was seconded to ZC by ICC, the plan was to get rid of the whole executive and ICC appoint working committee would be put in place to turn around the fortunes of the troubled association. But ZC board knew they wont be able to dip their fingers into zc coffers they rejected the move and used Robson Sharuko the Herald scribe to fight through the paper.
Just to let you know the following people have been sacked by Zimbabwe Cricket from their respective positions:
National Team 1. Heath Streak - Head Coach 2. Lance Klusener - Batting Coach 3.Douglas Hondo - Bowling Coach 4. Walter Chawaguta - Fielding Coach 5. Stanley Chioza - Computer Analyst 6. Sean Bell - Fitness Trainer 7. Anesu Mupotaringa - Physiotherapist 8. Lovemore Banda - Team Manager 9. Christian Chiketa - Logistics Manager (TO CONFIRM HIS ROLE) 10. Graeme Cremer - Captain
Under 19 1. Stephen Mangongo - Head Coach 2. Prosper Utseya - Assistant Coach 3. Gregory Lamb - Assistant Coach
Tatenda Taibu is to meet with the ZC board for a meeting. I can neither confirm nor deny that he is in the firing line as well.
Thats everybody
What about Wayne James (Zim A) and Shepherd Makunura (Zim A assistant)? If they want to clean the house, might as well do it without giving any consideration for any post.
How could Sean Bell do anything about the results? This just shows they are cutting costs when we don't have to take the field.
What can Streak really gain by being stubborn? He should let go, probably in the interest of his son's cricketing future.
By the way, this is the board that sacked Hamilton from captaining in all forms after leading in 3 T20s They can pretty much do anything.
My sources tell me that many ZC staff are in the dark about what is being planned, but if the finances are as bad as reported nobody's job is safe. To think that if we had scored one more run against Scotland and the coaching team would be hailed as heroes by the authorities. Shows how ridiculous it is to clear everyone out like this.
Neil Johnson, Alistair Campbell, Murray Goodwin, Andy Flower (w), Grant Flower, Dave Houghton, Guy Whittall, Heath Streak (c), Andy Blignaut, Ray Price, Eddo Brandes

Yeah it was the players that ultimately failed. Granted the Klusner's and Hondo's didn't really seem to be doing much. Don't know much about Chuwagata or the analyst.
There needs to be a serious overhaul of players, but this was also the strongest available ZIM squad selected and not many are raising their hands for selection outside this core group. Its a real conundrum because who do you cut and who replaces those players? Tari and Burl should definitely be in line for a recall. I think the time has come to bite the bullet and go ahead and blood in guys like Mavuta, Madhevere, and Murray (am I forgetting anyone?) along with Tari and Burl. Given the strenght of the opposition and venues, Taylor and Raza are the only guys who truly delivered with Williams, Cremer, and Blessing putting in OKish performances. The rest should have bossed opposition of this calibre but didn't.
Can't blame the coaches if the guys out in the middle refuse or cannot avoid making the same mistakes every series.
