I diagree that Zimbabwe that Zimbabwe are dependent on four players. If you look at the results against Pakistan and Bangladesh every player has contributed at some stage that is a fact.

However the problam has been consistancy as in one match Scott Daly will score runs and in another Gary Chimuitwa will make a decent score and scot daley will fail. The big issue with the Zimbabwean side is the lack of big scores as we get a lot of 30's and 40's but no 100's.

Selection will be intresting as Curren has stated that he wants to go in with two spinners and three seemers, however the best spinners (Barring Higgins who is a certaintly to be one of the Spinners) has be Simon Maguva who is has the smallest repution behind the established first team frachinse players of Tinotenda Mutombodzi and Natsayi Mushangwe.

However the team is taking shape at the moment to look something like this

1. Scott Daly
2. PJ Moor (VC)
3. Gary Chirimuta
4. Dean Mazhawidza (WK)
5. Andrew Lindsay
6. Dylon Higgins (C)
7. Nathan Waller
8. Natsai Mushangwe/Tinotenda Mutombodzi/ Simon Mugava
9. Mazvita Zambuko/Richard Muzhange/Steve Chimhamhiwa
10. Callum Price
11. Tendai Chitara

The main battles are for the 3rd seemer and second spinner unless Curren decides to drop a batsman, probably either Andrew Lindsay or Scott Daly

My pick of that crop is PJ Moor, Dylon Higgins, Callum Price, Tinotenda Mutombodzi, Natsai Mushangwe, and Tendai Chitara

But i wouldent get to excited about Waller or Linsay as the word is that they are very average players but hey hopefully we will get a chance to see for ourselves and rate them :D

If you look at the statistics of of the matches they have played in 2009 you will find that all the batsman and bolwoers have very similar averages. Therefore there is no reliance of any of the players.

Yes there are players that we consider to be more talanted than others, such as PJ moor and Dylon Higgins but every player in that sqaud in the 14 international matches which they have played in 2009 have put in good performances.

Dean Mazhawidza - 218 runs at 19.90
Gary Chirimuta - 234 runs at 26.00
Scott Daly - 128 runs at 18.28
PJ Moor - 59 runs at 14.75
Andrew Lindsay - 56 runs at 11.20
Dylon Higgins (C) - 76 runs at 12.66
Nathan Waller - 47 runs at 11.75

Cant see any over reliance in the batting

Bowling

Mazvita Zambuko - 3 wickets at 51.00
Richard Muzhange - 7 wickets at 44.00
Steve Chimhamhiwa - 15 wickets at 43.66
Callum Price - 3 wickets at 18.83
Tendai Chitara - 12 wickets at 18.83
Natsai Mushangwe - 11 wickets at 28.18
Tinotenda Mutombodzi - 7 wickets at 54.71
Simon Mugava - 7 wickets at 28.42
Dylon Higgins - wickets at 25.00

cant see any over reliance there either with five or six bowlers having all similar records

He was but i remember reading in the Herald that he broke his leg playing for ZImbabwe under 19 rugby in the South African Cravan week and not sure if he has recoverd in time. Dean Mazhawidza has been doing a good job as wicket keeper batsman so not sure if he would of forced his way in anyway.

It also intresting to note that Andrew Lindsey was also part of the under 19 rugby side along with corry van resuburg who is a year younger and therfore should be playing in the next under 19 cricket world cup. Nice to seee zimbabwe producing a number of multi talanted sportsman :D

Getting worse as they go along, it seems:
Cape Cobras v Zimbabwe U19
Cape Cobras 205/9 (50 overs; Grant Edmeades 80, Callum Price 3/44)
Zimbabwe U19 93 all out (36.4 overs; Tino Mutombodzi 30*, Chad Fortune 3/21, George Linde 2/13)
Cape Cobras won by 112 runs

I strongly agree with you on that note Zimfan1 :) sure we're all excited about the up and coming talent of PJ Moore and Dylan Higgins, but like you said each player has performed admirably in 2009, therefore credit is due.

And thanks for the update on Craig Dollar. I only noticed his absence from the team the other day, and just wanted to check from a reliable source.
