Did they play some sort of warm up? The commentator who was hyping Mavuta up said he had seen in a warmup that batsmen couldnt pick his googly. How would he have known that?
They were referring to the pre-match warm up. It might have been Ntini saying it, what a terrible commentator he is btw.
I was cringing about 10 times a sentence when Nrini was speaking. Absolutely no idea about cricket. He must’ve just had raw talent with the ball cause he has zero logic. Poor Proctor commentating with him, didn’t know what to say to half of the drivel.

Mavuta bowls 3 bad balls an over, as I suspected. Not good enough at this level.

I see Tiripano for Mavuta

It would be interesting to see Tiripano bowl in seaming conditions. I suspect we will play a 3rd seamer next game. They really should have added Mpofu for the ODIs. I have never been his biggest fan but you never know in those conditions

Been thinking about the first game more and I think this proteas team can be beaten if we have 1 good day with the bat. They also struggled before lunch. Something tells me if we had bowled first they would have struggled to make 200 as well. It was a tough pitch.

I think this was our best chance TapsC on that pitch, I always say the smaller the contest the closer the contest, we're more likely to win a low scoring game on a tricky pitch.

I also agree about Bobby being unlucky to miss this series, he never seems to get to play on any seam friendly wickets barring the Pink Ball Test.

I really can't see Tiripano taking many wickets against these guys, I'd probably stick with Mavuta, if he can get a few googlys to pitch in line he might sneak a coulpe of wickets.
