This is a performance that is needed badly. If Kemar Roach is indeed as fast and fearsome as he is being made out to be, then, we would be in a bit of a bother. We have not been very good against decent pace bowling of late. That said, WI bowling is ordinary otherwise, and if we cut down on "soft dismissals", then there is no reason why we can't win some there. Remember, Vusi and Chibhabha have had decent success there before, so fingers crossed :).
Oh, how badly would I like to see Vusi in the team for the next series; or more precisly his perfomance against international sides since. I have been gutted, however, by Chamu Chibhabha's perfomance in the Logan Cup. At an average of just 24 in 11 innings, http://stats.cricinfo.com/ci/engine/rec ... tournament, he is down 25 in the list of leading run scorers in the Cup.
Thoroughly inexcusable

Yes Kemar Roach is a very good prospect, and a quick one at that. But he's very iratic and can bowl some really bad stuff. And i tell you what, we're twice the side that went out there in 2006. We have better bowlers, better batsmen (who are in form:AKA Vusi :D ) and better backroom staff who'll have a hige impact on the results on the field. Brendon Taylor is 3 times the player he was when he last visited, as is Keggan Meth (if selected  ). So i'm really looking forward to this tour, but the big question is : Will Mark Vermuelan be selcted ?? :|

A good performance against the West Indies is vital for Zimbabwe. Our team is experienced and many of the players have been in the side for the last 3-5 years. The 'inexperienced' and 'young' excuses can no longer apply to our team, it is time to perform. Players such as Brendan Taylor, Vusi Sibanda, Hamilton Masakadza, Mark Vermeulen, Charles Coventry, Stuart Matsikenyeri, and Sean Williams should be expected to perform well, while our bowling contigent with Prosper Utseya and Ray Price is certainly very experienced in the spin department.
Neil Johnson, Alistair Campbell, Murray Goodwin, Andy Flower (w), Grant Flower, Dave Houghton, Guy Whittall, Heath Streak (c), Andy Blignaut, Ray Price, Eddo Brandes

Its the seam department that is a worry for me.Our current seamers lack pace and would get domintated at test level.....streak has got his work cut out.

Maybe...at the moment. You can't deniy the fact that there's massive potential in certain fast bowlers in Zimbabwe. Kyle Jarvis and Chitara are the main ones in my book, and Aleseni to follow. Wether or not he's actaully bolwed over 90mph is another issue, but Heath Streak does have something to work with. We have deffinetly got the right man at the helm. :D

Well hope the techies back home have a whole lot of Roach and co footage in recent months that way you can see and map out where the bowling machine should bowl @ 150 in this month whilst preparing for the tour such that when we get there we are all but surprised..Anyway go Zim was impressed with little I saw and heard about the system..maybe not all of it but I guess baby steps and they are headed in the ryt direction...
