Ireland U19 v Zimbabwe U19
Nelson Park, Napier, 23 January 2010
Another day of split loyalties for me - oh joy! Ireland are reigning European Champions at U19 level, so I have to tip the boys in green to win this one...

Another rubbish effort so far in the 32 over affair. Zim U19 40/4 now. These performances are definitely doing some damage.

Just had a glance at the tournament averages. VERY ugly...
This tournament must be a real eye opener for all concerned. Nobody can doubt the amount of work that needs to be done. A lot has improved (mainly off the field) in the last year/6 months, but there is a very long way to go, no one can think to suggest otherwise.

And another drubbing complete. Getting all out in a 27 over match is unpardonable. It is getting embarrassing by the match.

USA U19 are the next opposition, for the 13th-place playoff semis.
..although according to CricInfo, we're *also* playing England U19 in the 9th-place playoff. At the same time.

Peter Moor scored 28 with 2 boundaries and Simon Mugava bowled ok by the looks of things. Other than that I dont think anyone looked good. Another pathetic performance really. The match against the USA will be interesting. Zimbabwe lost to their senior team once a few years ago in an unofficial warmup match for a tournament, lets hope that isnt repeated at Under-19 level.
