Lost Pace Sensations...

Post by sloandog »

I've been going through some old scorecards for Zimbabwe in the past 6-7 yeras, and i noticed that (at one stage) we had a very powerful back bone for fast bowling. In the national team we had Henry Olonga, Heath Streak, Travis Friend, Dougie Hondo, Andrew Blignaut and even Sean Ervine coild bowl sharpley. But in recent times, we've had some excellent back-up bolwers. In 2006 in the West Indies when Zimbabwe toured, Campbell Macmillan was playing for the Zimbabwe A' Side. Why the hell wasn't he selected ?? Jordan Nicolle, was playing in 2005 for both his First class team and Zimbabwe A' (And looking at the scorecards both players were playing excellently, picking up wickets at regular intervals :| ). Sometimes i questioned the selection panel of 2004-2007. We had Players like Craig Ervine aswell playing, and he (supposedly) had more potential with the bat than his brother. But Jordan Nicolle and Campbell Macmillan could both have done some real damage at the international stage, as they both had some serious pace.
Macmillan: 84-87MPH.

J.Nicolle: 82-85 MPH.

A real shame.... :|
