Unless the spinners come good we could see BT charging in from the commentary box end

Have Rainsford and Campbell commentated together? That would be an interesting spell. Rainsford is quite critical at times.

120+ kph bowlers wont be effective in sub continent flat decks, when there is no swing and seam movements.

Zimbabwe is missing Blessing Muzarabani & Carl Mumba who are faster then Jarvis & Chatara, could have been more effrctive in this flat pitch through reverse swing.
So we're putting Jarvis & Chatara in the 'useless old failures' category too??

Just finished watching Day 1's play with my buddy over at his house.

Must say Mominul and Mushfiq both looked like a million dollars out there, more so Mushfiq who played a chanceless innings while Mominul gave 2 chances (the chance on 120 can't be counted since if you bat that long you will inevitably offer a chance or two). But Mominul showed his class. While Mushy grafted, Mominul took the attack to the ZIM bowlers. They hardly scored in the first session, paying due respect to the bowlers and then cashed in when the bowlers sprayed it around. The mistake of the first test extreme was corrected with moderation. In Sylhet we didn't give Jarvis, Chatara, or Raza due respect in the first innings. In the second innings we paid them too much respect. Both will lead to failure.

Mushy showing why he's our most complete batsman...he's batted in all gears today. Hope he gets a double today, but at this rate we might need to bat till day 4.

What about? Flat pitch vs turning one?

Jarvis & Chatara are close to Anderson & Co. when playing in sub continent conditions, can trouble in early hours of the day and become completely flat later, depending on spinners to do the damage.

At 120+ none of the Zim seamers can do reverse swing, which is key to get success in sub continent

I'd also like to point out, Mushfiq is putting on a clinic on the sweep shot. Notice how sparingly he's played it. Maybe 5-6 times in 300 balls faced. Notice how natural it looks. No premeditation. Compared to Hamilton or Taylor who sweep every other over in a premeditated fashion and rarely find the boundary and often get out. Also notice Mushy hasn't reverse swept once in 300 balls at the crease.

And just as I say that, one insane Zimbabwean sweep from Mushy after 290+ deliveries at the crease. Followed by a much better sweep shot for 3 runs.

Ya. And your prediction of 400 plus.
This pitch is now breaking up though. Toss was very important. We are in deep deep shit batting on this now.

Mavuta close to joining the 100 club. Not too many guys give up 100 runs without a wicket
