Proteas getting dry humped again! They’re going to have to win their remaining games and some weird stuff has to happen amongst the other teams.
If you want to put an actual date on the demise of their cricket it might be today. Amla, Duminy and Steyn retiring, Faf May well step down and outside chance of Markram going Kolpak.

Was watching the game in between the state of
Origin match and my lord South Africa look lost , no guidance , no presence and lacking ability . They needed one of the top 3 to go massive . Shows how important AB was for them. Could be a very very painful transition instore for South Africa , think the board will
Spit and heads will roll very quickly .

Re: [Series Thread] World Cup 2019
South Africa are cooked, time to move on.
Bangladesh really needed to beat New Zealand if they wanted to make the semis IMO, I feel everyone is in a false sense of security because they have 9 Group games they can afford to lose 2 or 3 and still make the semis, not going to happen Im sorry.
Bangladesh now need to beat Afghanistan, Sri Lanka & Pakistan plus upset one of Australia, England or India, looks like a very uphill battle for them now.

That won't be enough, they still have Pakistan, the Windies & New Zealand all fighting for 4th spot, that is of course presuming England, Australia & India take the other 3 semi final birthsAndybligzz wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2019 3:58 amI can see Bangladesh sneaking in , they will beat the Afghans , Sri Lanka and I think they will upset India . This 'Brilliant' 10-team format is going to serve up plenty of 'meaningless games' towards the end of the tournament I reckon.

Re: [Series Thread] World Cup 2019
I haven't followed any of the games. Didn't even know when the World Cup was starting till 3-4 games were played. Truly realized the impact of Zim's absence on me with respect to the World Cup as I realized the matches were on and I couldn't care less.
Have no intentions of following in the coming days too. Just not the "World" Cup with many deserving teams excluded. Should have been at least the 2003 model - 14 teams.
Jaybro is right, lot of dead rubbers towards the end should teach them a lesson.

Re: [Series Thread] World Cup 2019
Not much these days. Basically pretty much stopped following after the Fab 5 retired (Dravid, Kumble, Laxman, Tendulkar, Srinath). Still follow the fortunes of some individual players and I do follow domestic cricket quite a bit.
Might get back on the bandwagon if and when the likes of Shubman Gill, Prithvi Shaw, Mayank Agarwal, Shreyas Gopal get to play for India regularly. These guys are either supremely talented (first two) or have done the hard yards in domestic cricket year-in year-out (latter two). Most importantly, I like the attitude of those guys compared to some of the incumbents, which has been a turn-off for me.
Pujara, Shami and Bhuvi are probably the only ones I really admire in the current setup. And Bumrah.
SL has always been my second team after Zim, but they are in such disarray post Sanga. NZ are very close to toppling SL as my second favorite team. So, I'd like to see NZ win this "World Cup".
I loved the Aussie team under Steve Waugh though, and I have always been a Steve Waugh fan - ever since he scored that epic 200 facing up to the fire of Ambrose.

This WI bowling attack is upsetting the batters big time.
Watch some slower tracks getting prepared to try and negate their impact.
