Abu Jayed was bowling slightly slower than usual. He was around 125-126 kph in the first innings and then around 122 in the 2nd. Ebadat was around 130 in the first, and up around 137-138 in the 2nd. I like how he was able to slow down 5 mph to bowl more economically. Top speeds were as follows:
Nyauchi is the slowest of the lot. Jarvis and Chatara would likely have sent down a couple in the 137 (85 mph) range.
So the Don is now our fastest bowler?
Having watched some highlights Nyauchi looked completely flat and slower than against SL (where I mainly saw him in the first Test); seems to suggest the unfamiliar rigours of playing three Test matches were too much for him.
Don looked like the Don.
Tshuma looked like Mpofu at Hami's pace. The guy is 26, nobody suddenly gains 10 kph at that age, no matter how much A team cricket you throw at them. He couldn't even crack the Tuskers' bowling line-up for years, one of the weakest in the Logan Cup.

This.
The worst thing is these guys aren’t bad bowlers, in terms of line and length. they are just impotent and have no venom. It can’t be taught. They are first class players only.
There’s no one in the domestic scene hitting 140. Not even a blitzer who’s wayward like a Nicholson or Aliseni. At least a guy like that might come good after intensive coaching

This pitch was pretty dead though. For pacers. Wasn’t a whole of spin either. And it actually got flatter after day 1. Ended up being a good toss to lose. That being said it wasn’t a 265 wicket. 450-500 was probably par.
This was a third string Zimbabwe side. 4 first XI players were missing. Imagine what Australia would look like without Cummins, Starc, Smith and Paine.
I’m just really terrified about the future bowling stocks, for Zim. Can anybody seriously name an exciting prospect with the ball? Jakeil is a myth and looked dreadful, Ngarava is all over the bloody place and has lost pace considerably since the 2016 Under 19’s CWC, and I believe Mashinge is nothing more than a club level bowler...? We have no bowling stocks, none. Even in the recently concluded under 19’s tournament we only had young spinners. The last under 19 fast bowlers who really got our juices flowing with pace and bounce were, ironically, Jarvis and Chatara, who have both mutated into 80mph seamers.
Zimbabwe never had problem with the players, 80% problem lies with the board and its heads.
Mumbai scored a half century for his trouble he is benched
M-Long played well against Sri Lanka and is benched
Mpofu is included for the tour as a replacement of Jarvis only to benched
