Corona
Re: Corona
These MF’s are calling for a 21 day lockdown commencing Monday, giving the entire country 5 hours to buy provisions tomorrow. Most people have money to buy provisions for a couple of days at most, and they need money at the end of those two days to buy food for the next two. Completely clueless and without use. We may have the most corrupt, uncaring and thieving government on the planet.
Copying Big Brother SA and the rest of the human race for reasons they don’t actually properly understand, it just sounds like a good idea and they think they ought to be copying someone because they don’t have a plan if their own.
Hopefully the South African population will start throwing rocks at the cops and the army and our subjugated people will follow suit and we can go and start by burning their little private hospital down in a few days time when it’s got some inmates.
Of course the army and the police are free to roam the streets kicking the crap out of people just for fun like they always do. Oh and if you’re an MP or Minister you can proceed as if nothing was going on at all.
Oh and censorship of known people on social media that point out the truth. Despicable people.

Re: Corona
The ANC are spending their time asking their people to please not to drink too much and to please not to kick the crap out of their wives and daughters and not to rape too many people over the next three weeks because that is the national sport down there. Presumably the farm murderers will be allowed to continue unabated.
Minister Cele who thinks he’s Wyatt Earp has just been downright threatening. He’s aware that the whites will largely have an easier time of it so he’s made it exceedingly difficult for them, threatening the direst of consequences for anyone caught jogging or walking their dogs. If they issued a temporary ban on eating exotic pets we wouldn’t be in this mess.
The one thing you can rely on in SA is for the general population to not give a shit about authority and to throw rocks and burn and destroy shit and kill people as soon as they’re having a bad day. The murder and rape capital of the world. Grab the popcorn because shit is about to unfold.

Well, you do. You said that you can't really be a 'moderate' and a Muslim. That is essentially a judgement. I could try to explain how the texts need to be understood in context, and what Islam says about extreme groups like Isis and so on, but that would only fall on deaf ears, which again, comes to judgement.Googly wrote: ↑Fri Mar 27, 2020 11:07 amI’ve got 5 pretty good friends who are Moslem, I don’t judge anybody by their religion, I don’t pre-judge anyone actually, you need to walk a mile in their shoes before you do that. Two of them always used to pitch at my house on Fridays and I’d have to lock my dogs up and they’d grab their mats and use my verandah, I did manage to convert the one chap to beer, grade A coke and Christian girls for about a year, but he’s back in his PJ’s, but we had a laugh and still do. I just wait and see what people do from day to day and assess, if I don’t like what I see I just practice social distancing.
Simple. Calm down, bud.
I have nothing against you personally or otherwise. Your experience with religion does not allow you to define other religions. There is no religion that advocates violence. Buddhism is claimed to be the most peaceful, yet look at Ashin Wirathu. I'm not going to define all Buddhists by him though. I just don't think you get to make claims of which you have no basis or founding, particularly when things like Islamaphobia are very real and constantly experienced by good, kind, honest Muslim, including personally.
I am calm. I don't know why people often think i'm not.
Re: Corona
Just to get back on track, I think it's important we recognise all the health workers battling the virus in the front line and even more importantly, stay home unless you need too.

Re: Corona
C’mon I never said that. What I said was the moderate Moslems by and large don’t do much condemning of the radicals. Look at how much radicalization occurs in the UK mosques right under the noses of moderates whom you can’t tell me that they don’t know what’s going on, yet they remain silent. Sections of the Quran and the Bible advocate extreme violence and modern moderate followers choose to interpret those sections differently or just point blank pretend they’re not there
. Both books were compiled about 1500 years ago and require urgent revision at best. I occasionally listen to Hitchens, he was extremely bright and spent his life debating various religious people and shredding a number of political figures it was not really a fair fight as he knew the Bible and the Quran better than they did and had a dizzying intellect and he used to annihilate them. He’d have been amazing to have around now. Interestingly he was an early Mugabe supporter. He spent the earlier years going after the Vatican, who incidentally respected him and he was the advocatus diaboli in the canonization of Mother Theresa, for whom he had a special dislike. He then turned his attention to Islam whom he felt had become a global threat. He appeared contemptuous of any religion but researched all of them.

Re: Corona
You did though. Page 8. That whole idea that no condemnation happens, is completely false. I know personally of condemnation being done now and that has been done. I worked in the UK for 2 years a journalist (and a lot more years in Aus) and was on the forefront of a lot of what was happening and the amount of work being done against the idea you are putting forward is magnanimous.Googly wrote: ↑Sat Mar 28, 2020 7:07 amC’mon I never said that. The problem with the UK is that people see whole areas which are majority Muslim residing and it doesn't 'fit in'. Granted, a lot of these areas have populations that are comfortable in their communities. So they continue to speak their own language and engage in their CULTURAL ways, but it is not a changing of UK ways, it is just the lack of education from the older generation that initially settled there. I spoke openly about it when I was there and said it needs to change, and fortunately, the younger generation are doing a lot of work to change that. It will take time, but it is happening. There is no active way to impose Shariah Law because Shariah Law does not allow it. So you just have an area that doesn't have the same shops and vibe, and you have people who look and dress differently, so Farage or Tommy will come out and spout some nonsense and people believe it. I saw first hand how the media operates and what is reported. I saw things I wouldn't agree with from members of the community, but whenever I saw it, it was called out, and I know of many who are doing the same.
We don't "choose" to interpret things differently, they are interpreted as they are meant to be. Not everything in it is a guide or rule, some of it are stories and lessons from the past.
As for the Rona conversation. Things in Zim are horrible. I don't see how the lockdown will affect much as it seems most are still carrying on normally, and the leadership have gone about it half heartedly. When the leadership is failing you from the top to bottom and your healthcare system is effectively nothing, There is bound to be serious issues.

There's been a lot of false and mostly false statements from Googly which to me indicates positions that are not well researched out. Ie he's going by "media" reports rather than actual experience.
- Zimbos has already mentioned the "no condemnation" thing...here in the US, the mosque I grew up attending is always putting out statements in our local media...I know because the spokesman is a family friend of mine whom I know personally.
- "Muslim no go" zones. There aren't any no go zones, except perhaps in Syria or Afghanistan. Just this past summer I went to Brick Lane in East London - the heart of the British-Bangladeshi community and I was surprised that there way more white people walking around than brown. If you compare that to Jackson Heights, NYC or Jamaica Queens...its starkly different...forget about white people, there aren't even Indians and Pakistanis in the Bangladeshi neighborhoods and vice versa. Its 100% Bangladeshi.
- the idea that atheists are somehow more tolerant than people of religion. individual atheists perhaps...but as a whole, atheists are still human beings with their inherent biases and will react accordingly. atheism has become a religion/ideology of itself nowadays and is practically as dogmatic as religion is. It can't be repeated enough, but Stalin and Mao were atheists and Hitler probably was too. A load of tolerance and peace those guys brought to the world, no?

If you add up the number of people killed in the name of religion vs Mao and Stalin’s purges you’ll find religion leads that by about 100 million
so that’s not true.
Claiming there’s no Sharia Law in the UK really makes me question whether you have an agenda because sadly aspects of it are actually legally recognized in the UK, such has been the unwillingness of a culture to embrace the ways of their adopted country.
There are emphatically and demonstrably many many places where non Moslems are completely unwelcome by increasingly militant free-loading people methodically taking advantage of a system starting to creak at the seams. I can find legit numbers, facts and stats all day long. I don’t really have to post links of hostile chanting crowds in the UK to prove my point do I? Or links on child grooming gangs? You have to dig but you can find creditable sources because there has been an ongoing effort to actively hide what really goes on.
Again I’m saying they’re in the minority, but I think even those numbers would surprise. I’m in isolation and I’ve got time.
The persecution of that Tommy dude was out of all proportion, I didn’t pay too much attention, but something didn’t ring true there. The system is more afraid of a Far Right than a radical left or radicalized Muslims it seems. He got done over way worse than some seriously militant nasty people who suck off a system they profess to hate with glee. Jails are jammed with Moslems on their way to being even more radicalized.
Both of you doth protest too much, I’ll dig further, you’ve piqued my interest.

You don’t need to look much further than this to know you guys are downplaying a situation that you know exists.
