This is the exact reason why I expressed shock and horror when foreignfield took Lungi Ngidi when Rabada was still available...
Yes odd choice
Ngidi is statistically a lot better though. Maybe that swayed him?
No, he just seems a nice fella, that's all.
ngidi, tait and bond are all amazing statistically but haven’t had many games in the last decade. So good picks for the stats I guess
Nah, not picking for stats. I haven't even looked at their post-2010 stats, tbh, Bond and Tait I mean. Common sense would suggest they are worse than their career stats. After making a mental map of possible picks I realised many of my guys were on their last legs in the early 2010s. I don't follow international cricket aside from Zim nowadays as much as I did in the noughties and early teens (especially not limited overs), and my side definitely shows this.
Ngidi is my proof that I still know a cricketer under 40!
Damn jaybro. Why do we keep taking each others picks.
To be fair, I literally typed up KG Rabada and was ready to press submit, but i thought it would give me too long a tail and in the end decided to go with Murali because I needed a spinner and wanted to secure that role. If KG went, then it opens up having the number 8 spot to a more all round type player rather than just a bowler, but that could change too.
One of the other reasons i resisted him earlier in the draft was because I didn't want to essentially pick only SA players, and wanted to have a fair share from other teams too.
I also figured that maybe if Rabada has slipped under the radar so far, he may slip again for at least one more round and I will pick him next.
Oh well, I did also think of a couple of back ups assuming he went. Just need to hope they don't go too.

When we did the last draft I was very wary about picking some bowlers who can bat; but in this XI where I’m not not stuck picking guys with an average of 20 in my top 4 I’m not as concerned.
Ideally I was hoping for Rashid Khan or Ravi Jadeja to Barca at No.8; but I’m happy enough with Dale Steyn doing that role, he did after all score a good 60 odd against Zimbabwe in 2018 on a real difficult track.

That is true. With the batsmen I have, I shouldn't really have to worry about a slightly longer tail. Then again, depends on who the rest of my available batting picks are.
That's why I was going to go with Cummins at number 8. He is a damn good bowler and a decent bat. Has scored some runs against good opposition.

I'm sure there are statistically better openers out there, but I'll pick Mohammad Hafeez just the same. He also provides a handy bowling option, if needs be.
