What to do with Lamb and Utseya?
Re: What to do with Lamb and Utseya?
I think that greg lamb should be given more chances & if he still underperformes then they should replace him with gavin ewing (Much better& attacking player & tidy offspiner)

Re: What to do with Lamb and Utseya?
Well it may not be enough, but Gavin Ewing is a very talented batter. A much better batter than Greg Lamb and possibly a better asset in the field. So i agree PSR on that note.Conant wrote:Tidy is never enough in cricket. Prosper Utseya is tidy
Re: What to do with Lamb and Utseya?
I think Greg Lamb should be given more chances. Remember this is his first stint in international cricket and its a series away from home. He has shown the ability to be patient with his scoring and is not getting out after 3 deliveries. Maybe some coaching from Grant Flower and Alastair Campbell will help.

Re: What to do with Lamb and Utseya?
I'm willing to give somebody a chance, but with Greg Lamb his lack of technique will take much more than some coaching. I'd like to see him go away with his franchise and work hard on his batting. I wish him all the best, because lets face it, he's certainly got talent to work with

Re: What to do with Lamb and Utseya?
I agree that if he works hard on his batting in franchise cricket he should be kept in consideration. There are many positives to his game and he doesnt look completely overwhelmed from a psychological point of view. If he could improve his batting he would be a handy lower middle order batsmen who can also bowl 10 overs in an ODI if required - although I realise we have a team full of somewhat useful batsmen who can bowl.

I agree there Eugene. At this point he looks more useful than Utseya. He will be very useful with his bowling in20over cricket -- perhaps even the one dayers -- but somebody will have to make way for him because frankly we will need another pace bowler in matcheseugene wrote:I think Greg Lamb should be given more chances. Re: What to do with Lamb and Utseya?
If Anthony Ireland came back and played (Which is highly likeyly now), then he and Kyle Jarvis wouldbe a superb opening bowling combination. With Andy Blignaut in the side too and perhaps Sean Ervine the pace bowling will take care of itslelf.
Re: What to do with Lamb and Utseya?
Bar one game Prosper didnt bowl too badly.
However,
He does look weak...he really isnt that great a player.
If a decent quick arives he must be first to go. Cremer is starting to prove a revelation, and Price is well....Price.
Its hard to shaft the captain and that is the problem. What Alan Butcher must do is find a new captain (he can use the excuse as starting fresh) and promote either Price/Hamilton/Tai-bong to leadership.
That way, Prosper can be dropped as soon as he is needed to.
