Why Prosper must Go!

Post by bayhaus »

I have a different take on Prospers captaincy(I won't go into the batting second with ten spinners in the team, or the idea to bat Maruma at no. 3! etc) My argument is based purely on the pre & post match speeches. Soooo scripted I think he is actually GAGGED! It makes him appear, not-so-intelligent! Here are the quotes from the series. It seems I know exactly what he is going to say before he even starts to talk. (As captain that is.)

T20
Prematch
Utseya: "We going to bat first. It's always a pleasure to come to the Caribbean and we hope to put up a good show. The game is starting to shape up back home; good players are coming through. We have good spinners in this current side.

Postmatch
Utseya: "It wasn't a great start but we managed to put a total and the guys struck it out there. It wasn't a easy to bat on .. we thought 140 was a good total there but it obviously wasn't! The wicket was spinner friendly and so we decided to make use of all our spinners. The guys have been playing some good cricket back home. Even though we have won this first game but its important for us to keep improving and not get ahead."

ODI 1
Utseya: "It was a good team effort. We are a still young side and need to learn. Masakadza (jnr) managed to hold his cool under pressure, I am happy with his effort. West Indies is still a good side and we respect them."
confident; we need to iron out few things. we have worked hard in domestic cricket and it should be a good series."

ODI 2
Utseya: "Maybe 20 runs short. We just didn't have a partnership up front, we kept losing wickets at crucial points. Just not enough runs on the board."

ODI 3
Utseya: "We didn't bat properly. We took too much time to adjust, didn't just bat well. They made use of the conditions well, they bowled in the right areas and with the right fields."

ODI 4
Prematch
Utseya: "It's a decent wicket, if we apply ourselves we can do well. It's important we get runs on board and a good start will be important."

ODI 5
Utseya: After match - "Not enough runs on the board, we let ourselves down with the batting. We need to work on our batting."

Prosper really needs to go. He must be held accountable for results under his captaincy. He seems to lack many basic captaincy skills like bowling allocations, batting order, and fielding placements.
Neil Johnson, Alistair Campbell, Murray Goodwin, Andy Flower (w), Grant Flower, Dave Houghton, Guy Whittall, Heath Streak (c), Andy Blignaut, Ray Price, Eddo Brandes

Chigumbura: "I left the team down a bit in the morning with my bowling. The batsmen played really well. Only one seamer, Chris, bowled well but the spinners bowled really well for us. It was a good start .. credit for Ervine and he has to make sure that he gets consistent. He played very well today."

Elton's pace has just completely gone. And i mean gone ! His pace in Pakistan in 2008 was up to 138kph (Touching 86Mph on a dead wicket).
