Obviously I agree with you. But it's not as if that sort of defection would be unprecedented...maehara wrote:..but why would they? The schedule for Zim is probably busier than it's ever been, the World T20's just around the corner (if they want to impress clubs / counties, that's the place to do it), and there's a real prospect of Test cricket not far away - why throw that away?aydee wrote:Both of these two have been on-off over the last few years, so hopefully they havn't decided to stay in England for club cricket... Fingers crossed.
I'm hoping it's just a case of enjoying St Patrick's while passing through. Otherwise they've just thrown away two amazingly promising careers.

...and in darker times I would've understood them doing it. Not now. As the thread title says, bizarre...aydee wrote:But it's not as if that sort of defection would be unprecedented...

Re: Bizarre story about Taylor and Cremer
On facebook his status does say "Dream Over", but that was posted during the Windies series after they lost the 3rd ODI. Just clarrifying that that has nothing to do with any of this
Re: Bizarre story about Taylor and Cremer
Scary,
but i dont think that they are deserting camp now.
Cremers woman is based in Zimbabwe/SAF..... and he did post the 'dreams over' following the 4th ODI when they lost the series.
Earlier on he wrote 'i still believe we can win the series'.
And both of these guys are party animals so they are just getting shitfaced i bet. If you defect do it after the world cup....as someone metioned.
Worse, England is starting to face a real crisis with just about every man and his dog trying to qualify for the national team after playing counties.
I listened to a podcast by Geoff Boycott where he was scathing about it....he really summed it up well.
Peace out

Id like tp post something here about that comment but will refrain as dont want to get told off. But will say Geoff Boycott does NOT represent all us Brits in his opinions .I listened to half of his rant on the radio and in the end turned the sound down. His fellow commentator at the time did everything he could to try and change the subject as once again Boycott opened his mouth without careing who he offended. Sorry not my fav person.
Im sure alot of people will disagree with me too and thats fine we all are entitled to our opinions but just wanted to point out we dont all agree with what he preaches.

Re: Bizarre story about Taylor and Cremer
I'm noticing that this story doesn't appear to have been picked up by Cricinfo and the other main cricketing websites, or by the Zimbabwean papers - which makes me think there's not as much to worry about as we thought at first. Would like to see some definite news that they're back from their wanderings, though...

The fact is that there is only one report on this from a soucrce which has not been known to relase breaking news about Zimbabwe cricket.maehara wrote:I'm noticing that this story doesn't appear to have been picked up by Cricinfo and the other main cricketing websites, or by the Zimbabwean papers - which makes me think there's not as much to worry about as we thought at first. I think we just need to wait and see untill the 23rd of March where the Rhinos are next playing and if they are missing from the line up then perhaps we need to be concernd.
Also i think this weeks sunday newspapers will make it clear what is happening, if there is know news of them then i think we have nothing to worry about.

Yeah. "Wait and Watch" must be the mantra. We'll know soon...zimfan1 wrote:The fact is that there is only one report on this from a soucrce which has not been known to relase breaking news about Zimbabwe cricket.
