Good to see Myers getting a score and Mumba picking up wickets.

This is the time for guys to put their hands up.

Hopefully, BT, KJ, and Chatara will be fit for the PAK series. Zimbabwe's Test side is actually looking stronger than it has since probably 2013. Anyone else agree?

If a fit Jarvis and Blessing open the attack, yes, probably. The Cremer hole is still gaping.

Disagree, Sibanda and Masakadza were much better batsman than Kasuza and Prince.

Scared me a bit how limited Prince looked with his shot selection in the test series. He just seemed to get stuck. Did he even score a shot on the off side as a drive or a punch down the groun?
When he was on form, Sibanda was just eye porn. Unreal batter when in full flow. I remember he pulled Wahab Riaz off the front foot twice on the front during an ODI in 2008 in Pakistan and then the next two deliveries belted him back past his had. Had so much talent did Vusi, but very little mental strength

Sibanda is questionable, because when all was said and done he still only averaged 20 something across formats playing against mostly weak opposition.

A 2013 lineup would be:

1) Sibanda
2) Mawoyo
3) H Masakadza
4) Taylor
5) Waller
6) Chigumbura
7) Mutumbami
8) Cremer
9) S Masakadza
10) Jarvis
11) Panyangara

vs 2021

1) Kasuza
2) Prince
3) Taylor
4) Williams
5) Ervine
6) Raza
7) Chakabva
8) Chisoro
9) Blessing
10) Jarvis
11) Chatara/Ngrava/Tiripano

Sibanda and Kasuza are equivalent. Mawoyo > Prince. Ervine and Raza crush Waller and Chigs, and Williams crushes Masakadza. The current bowling attack is probably about as strong as the old one.

From the little that I saw, Prince looked better than he did in Bangladesh last year. He looked clueless there, giving about 5 chances on his way to 60 odd. But here, he did keep Rashid Khan at bay for several spells, which is a decent effort.

Prince is the new whipping boy of the forum it seems, I am actually pretty happy with him, he's scored three half centuries in the 5 tests he's opened in, that's good going for Zimbabwe standards.

The openers both look to me as if they're playing within themselves, and I assume that is at the coach & captain's request. I remember seeing Prince play a quite fluent innings against Pakistan in 2018, he's definitely got some shots in him but he's doing the team thing.

Kasuza too I feel could be much more explosive if the shackles were off, I'd be happy to see play some ODI matches and see what he's got.

I think Prince is doing a good job. He doesn't get out without facing a lot of balls which is part of being an opener. Prince is due a to post a big score so hopefully it's coming up against Pakistan.

Kasuza could lose his spot but there's no one threatening in the Logan Cup at the moment.
