if Maruma can shine with the bat and ball, its going to give him loads of confidence and might just help him stay in the team a bit longer.i want him to do well.

The whole plan, including the batting order, was great, but its a bit of inexperience, and just that it seems its not our day. What can you do? Eight down now

I agree with CrimsonAvenger completely. The intent was there, the gameplan was there. Given the net run rate situation, I liked them sending in Blignaut, Chigumbura and Coventry in succession - but when things go wrong, they go horribly wrong.
The Taylor non-selection really hurt, at a time when the New Zealand spinners were running rampant he was missed.
Disappointing result given the good start, but it wasn't our day.
Looking ahead to the tri-series, take out Maruma and put back Taylor and I think we have a fine looking ODI side - shuffling the batting order a bit of course.

Totally agree with u BRMT Admin. This loss not hurting me that much as yesterday's only coz of positive intent. My ODI XI same as yours with Williams, Mutizwa in for Lamb and Maruma (of course taylor included)

It's been a poor outing ffrom the guys once again, but in total honesty, I'm not all that hurt by the win either. The tri series in Zimbabwe will now be our main focus. Timcen Maruma just doesnt look like a batsmen what so ever. For the tri series I'd bring in Sean Williams and take out Timcen Maruma. That it. The rest of the squad will stay the same for me. Unlucky lads, just another year till the next big ICC eventbrmtaylor.com admin wrote:I agree with CrimsonAvenger completely. The intent was there, the gameplan was there. It was disappointing that both our games were rain-affected, we need all the match experience we can get. It looks like Maruma has been somewhat overrated as an allrounder. At least Greg Lamb got some runs today.
