Apart from Maruma, what has distinctly struck me is Cremer's batting stance. From what I have seen him a few times of late, his stance at the beginning of the innings is no better than Courtney Walsh's. He might open up once he gains confidence, but that hasn't really happened at the highest level. He gets out before that, because of the approach he has at the beginning. Yesterday's dismissal was one which even a self-proclaimed no.11 like Walsh / Chris Martin wouldn't be proud of. Now the question is, what is the standard of cricket back home if he is scoring runs so regularly?
P.S.: I have no qualms about his bowling, he might be the best leggie in business today as discussed in other threads.

you beat me to it Crimson. Lamb has been scoring heavily domestically and then looks a fish out of water at international level batting wise. Maruma and Cremer could be considered all-rounders due to their runs at home but when playing for their country look anything but. I think everyone got a bit ahead of themselves. Ed Rainsford is a genuine number 11 but even he has scores in the 30's in domestic cricket. I know it has improved a lot but clearly its not as good as people thought.

Lets make one thing clear. Timcen Maruma is not a batsmen. And i agree 100% that scoring runs back home in Zimbabwe doesn't mean anything when it cokes to international cricket.
