I was watching some dodgy channel that was repeatedly interrupted by some Indian guy beseeching me to subscribe to his channel. If he lived within a 1000km radius of me I'd be in my car driving to slap him around.secretzimbo wrote: ↑Sun Sep 19, 2021 5:39 pmI always wonder if de Grandhomme, Ballance and Curran are sat somewhere watching a dodgy YouTube broadcast and cheering for the boys like all of us sometimes haha.
Anyone know which franchise Houghton is joining?

Madhevere is number 9 for most T20i runs this year and Jongwe is number 2 for wickets this year. Credit for ZC for organising that many games.. I know the World Cup will change the stats but credit for ZC organising that many games.
I think only Pakistan have played more T20s than us this year. Its very possible for a young guy like Madhevere to play 25 T20s this year with the Dutch and Afghanistan still to come. Learning on the job.

Shumba has been stepping up lately. Positive stuff indeed. The most promising thing is that they are all so very young. And with the new leagues and such, Zimbabwe will have plenty of fixtures.
One critical thing to watch out for is synergy. How consistently can Wes, Myers, and Shumba contribute in the same innings/match. One of the things that held the Big 4 back was negative synergy. With rare exception, their sum was almost always less than the parts. Averages of low to mid 30s (low 40s for Willo in Tests) is actually quite decent. But ZIM have won so few games against decent opposition, primarily because they only ever came good One at a time. Or if the batting did well, the bowling did not and vice versa.
The Young 4 have got to address that and make sure not to repeat the same mistakes. Today Wes and Shunba both showed up, and voila ZIM won.

You'll be surprised at how many people keep an interest in Zim Cricket, particularly from those who invested a lot into it.
There is an overwhelming sense of wanting to help and be on board, but not with the current board. I've spoken to a few people who have said that they have money to invest if they had the right management in charge.
