Teams:

Eagles: C Zhuwawo, SP Gupo, P Masvaure, F Mutizwa*, GA Lamb, RW Chakabva†, T Mahlunge, AM Manyumwa, TN Garwe, MRH Mbofana, TC Mutombodzi, DT Hondo, IM Chinyoka

Rocks: SJ Marillier, Sikandar Raza, T Taibu†, CR Ervine, S Matsikenyeri, SO Tikolo*, T Chitongo, T Kamungozi, T Munyaradzi, NB Mahwire, MT Chinouya, TS Chisoro, S Mwakayeni

Interesting note to the Cricinfo scorecard:
Players per side 13 (11 batting, 11 fielding)

Wonder what the thinking behind that is. They're also shown as being 40 overs per side - following South Africa and England's lead in domestic one-dayers.

40 overs? 13 players per side?

What next, re-introducing the supersub?

Zimbabwe aren't strong enough in ODI cricket to be able to make such changes at domestic level in my opinion. It's not as if 10 overs and a few extra players are going to bring thousands of new spectators through the gates.

Seems like a "change for the sake of change" decision...

I guess we have to hold back until the cricinfo interpretation of this game is confirmed, but i've not much doubt that brm is right with his 'change for the sake of change' comment

I'm gradually beginning to lose it with cricket, those 'in charge' seem to think that every historical aspect of the game is boring and outdated and must be changed, wrong chaps, what you're doing is driving away a lot of long term supporters of the game and only bringing in new 'supporters' on a short term basis, just look at the attendance figures for the England v Pakistan 20/20 matches, the brainboxes can't understand why the crowds were so low, the answer is, yes, people are sick and fed up with game after game of slog and run and the inflated costs of attending these superb examples of cricketing skill, they are needed but in sensible numbers without all the gimmicks thank you very much

Anyway, i feel a bit better now ;)

Big recovery by Eagles thanks to Greg Lamb and Tarisai Mahlunge in a 116 run 6th wicket stand

Eagles 237-6 from 37.4 overs, Lamb 96* Mahlunge 47

I notice that Chamu Chibhabha is missing from the Rocks side, was he injured in the Logan Cup match ? would explain why he didn't open in the 2nd innings

Oops, sorry Mr Lamb, out for 96 :?

Eagles finishing on 252-7 from their 40 overs with 13 players, so it must be true ......

Lamb 96, Mahlunge 47, Zhuwawo 34, Tikolo 2-46, Chinouya 2-53

Ridiculous. Why on earth would you use that format?? Reducing it from 50 overs to 40 overs is one thing, I don't think this makes a great deal of difference. But 13-a-side? That's not even a proper cricket match to be honest. What on earth is the point?

Uncharacteristic knock of 96 off 78 balls from Mr Lamb there! Cool

Rocks making a decent shot at the chase here - going at over 7/over at the moment. Taibu and Marillier down, though.

Sikandar Raza 50* off 34 balls. His career best in List A matches...
Compare with his partner at the crease, Craig Ervine, just 1* off 15 balls...
