I think we have forgtten about a bloke called Solomon Mire. He was really destructive in his batting when he first came on the scene and has played Club Cricked in Australia for a while to improve his game. If he improves his Bowling could be a rank outsider to the Blignaut hall of famesloandog wrote:We constantly question who's going to be the next Andy Blignaut don't we. Well lets have a look at the options.
Elton Chigumbura no longer thinks he's a bowler. So he's not our future Andy.
Justic Chibahba is a very talented batter, gbut his bowling has much to be desired.
Shingrai Mazakadza has the potential to bat, but for now should focus on his bowling.
Greg Styrdom has quit.
Greg Lamb is going to be a handy cricketer with both bat and ball, but nothing more.
Nathan Waller has got great potential, but he's nowhere near international standards.
KEEGAN METH howver is ! He bowls with a thinking brain, he bowls with a little bit of pace and can swing the ball both ways. His batting is just as destructive. He can bat both long periods and score at a quick rate, and we all know what he's capable of in the field. GET HIM IN MAN !!

If Keegan Meth is Zimbabwe's great all-rounder hope, how come he only averages 12 in List A cricket?
The guy hasn't even made a first class century. Sloandog may be proved right in his opinion of him for he is clearly one of the most knowledgable people on the forum, but should'nt we wait until he starts making serious runs before promoting him?

Keegan Meth does indeed have potential. The frustrating thing however is that we are never able to discover his true ability because the selectors don't give him a chance.

Zim A 256 all out (66.4 overs; Maruma 62*, Franklin 5/22), trail by 270. NZ A have enforced the follow-on.

I'm glad Steve Marrilliar is still opening the batting. Just shows he's getting a good run, has any body seen the lad bat ??

sloandog has been banging on about this for a while and he is right. Meth deserves a chance.
A talented batsman but a modest, hardworking character, Stuart Matsikenyeri is the third of three school friends from Churchill Boys High School, Harare to represent Zimbabwe in international cricket. - Cricinfo.

Agree man, we lack seam bowlers in both squads, so when we play an A match like this and we lacked in the first match with the ball, they should change things. I were looking forward to seeing Chatara and Meth in this match, but they seem to keep the same squads all the time, i hope the selector has learnt his lesson and will give these 2 young guys a run in the next match. Our batting is giving a good account in the A Squad and 1st team which is good.eugene wrote:Keegan Meth does indeed have potential. Would you have Tendai Chitara with the national side ?? I certainly would, especially on those fast bouncy wickets.

Frustrating Sloan for us fans, and for the players themselves.sloandog wrote:Would you have Tendai Chitara with the national side ?? I certainly would, especially on those fast bouncy wickets.

He looks like he could be quite the star and has good pace. I dont know about him and masacadza taking the new ball though, Two rookies playing together could be a recipe for disaster but having said that he probably cant do any worse than Mpofu!!!!sloandog wrote:Would you have Tendai Chitara with the national side ?? Mpofu's Body language suggests that he may be at a nervous disposition every time he runs to the wicket. he has an Air of the defeated man about him
