Wicket: Ervine (c Peterson b Langeveldt 27). Zimbabwe 155/5 after 31.5 overs.
Re: [Match Thread] 2nd ODI (South Africa v Zimbabwe)
Ervine needs to improve against spinners, and learn to rotate the strike more, but he is worth persevering with.
Why was H.Masakadka dropped?

For no good reason that I can think of. Probably to make way for Ervine, with selectors unwilling to nix Flower / Williams as we need their bowling. Personally, would've kept Hammy and dropped Williams. The Saint wrote:Why was H.Masakadka dropped?

tO MAKE WAY for Ervine OR dABENGWA? I dont think thats the reason. Masakadza is too important a player to be dropped.maehara wrote:For no good reason that I can think of. You would think so, but to quote from ZC's own press release on this morning's selections:Dr_Situ(ZimFanatic) wrote: tO MAKE WAY for Ervine OR dABENGWA? I dont think thats the reason. Masakadza is too important a player to be dropped.
Dropped. Not injured or anything else, dropped. Which makes no sense to me, but that's what they've done.Zimbabwe have made a two changes, regular opener Hamilton Masakadza and strike bowler Chris Mpofu have been dropped from the starting XI. Coming into the starting line-up is all-rounder Keith Dabengwa and left-handed batsman Craig Ervine.

Very disappointing. He got a great start and looked in good nick.
Very much one for the future though. He deserves a run in the side as opposed to Coventry.
A talented batsman but a modest, hardworking character, Stuart Matsikenyeri is the third of three school friends from Churchill Boys High School, Harare to represent Zimbabwe in international cricket. - Cricinfo.
