Playing for Australia

Post by auszim »

Was thinking with all the changes in australia's spinning ranks...something like 14 players since warne retired. Do you think any of our guys would be capable of holding down a spot in the Aussie team?

Bearing in mind the new selection, michael beer, has played a meer 6 first class games at an average of 40 - thats bowling not batting!!

Hoping this generates a bit of discussion...sell your case to who you think would be the top contenders!!

Hauritz was unlucky. Price would walk into the Australian test side.
No one can tell me Beer or Doherty is a better bowler.
Utseya would'nt get a game, but with his improved form he would be a chance for the one-dayers or 20/20's.

Price, most likely. Can't really see anyone else mind. Ervine and Blignaut tried to crack it and failed.

i dont mean to derail the price train,

but i dont think price would evenmake an aussie state side.

price can keep things economical, thats what he does and all he can do really.

thats VERY valuable in a ODI or t20 but theres not alot to him.

he wouldnt have ever cracked the grade system and got into a sheffield shield team.

despite whats happening in the aussie team....theres some awesome talent in australia and sheff shieldis a huiger standard than county

Good point Zimdoggy. Zimbabwe have few if any players who would break into any other countries teams, except maybe Bangladesh or NZ. They are too inconcsistent. Price is a very good bowler but I guess we don't really know how he would fare in tests as he hasn't played in one for so long.
