If it was someone else you may have a point, but Ervine's one of our best, we can't ignore him if he comes back.

Besides, he probably will get good opportunities in England.

I guess given the current quality of our side we have to take who we can get. Beggars can't be choosers.

but when Ervine left, the situation in zimbabwe was dire. things have only looked up in the last 12 months or so and by that time Ervine had commitments to his county side etc. perhaps ervine is waiting for zimbabwe to line up test matches before committing to a return.

id like to change my side after seeing the tour of bang ... meth wont be there anymore he was really disapointing.
my 15 man squad would be : e.chigumbura (c),T.Taibu ( vc) , r.price,p.utseya,g.lamb.b.taylor,s.williams,h.masakadza,s.masakadza,c.chibabha,C.Mpofu,g.cremer,c.ervine,t.chetara,r.chakabva. (15)

that squads looks the goods but still not confident that we can play consistent quality cricket. theres defintaley class with the bat and promise with the ball. players like taylor, chigumbura , taibu, price and cremer can win us matches and with floater type players in ervine , williams ,lamb and utseya looks very balanced. ive picked chetara in the squad so he is exposed on the big stage and learns from the experience seeing as he will be the future of our pace battery. he would also be dangerous with a new rock in his hand with mpofu or masakdza jr from one end or even a spinner to bak him up. chakabva looks the goods and definately can play as a bat or wicket keep if taibu loses form or gets injured.williams and ervine both will be my first picked in the batting allowin to put a price on there wicket and rotate the strike continusouly , both also have a look of class to them which is what our batsman lack. chigumbura has to stay because he can turn a match within 5 to 10 overs at the crease even when not in form. taylor is the X factor and the star batsman so if we want to progress through te tournmanet hes the bloke that can do it he is a class above the rest and looks a million bucks when hes in form.of course diamond price is the same with the bowl and his experience will be vital for the youngsters. this would be my starting lineup for the world cup opener ..... if anyone feels they disagree please let me know.

BAT
1.B.Taylor
2.H.Masakadza
3.T.Taibu(wk) (vc)
4.S.Williams
5.G.Lamb
6.C.Ervine
7.E.Chigumbura
8.P.Utseya
9.G.Cremer
10.S.Masakadza
11.R.Price

12th man.C.Mpofu

bowl
1.P.Utseya
2.S.Masakadza
3.G.Lamb
4.R.Price
5.G.Cremer
6.E.Chigumbura
7.S.williams ( if chigs still bowls rubbish or the quicks go for to many)

the spinners are the best way to go , tangling the batsman up and building pressure from both ends . i swear if dabengwa is picked i will go insane , we all know he will but. anyway i feel this is our best side on the park feel free to tell me what u believe should be chnaged or added ect. cant wait to watch the boys.

I like the inclusion of Lamb. His batting and bowling is better than Dabengwa's and means we can have a death-by-spin bowling attack.

Yeah me too Lamb's a good inclusion.
He's scored a 100 as well in first class cricket this year has Lamb. Time he gets picked again in my opinion

If Dabengwa is selected for the world cup squad I am personally going to fly to Harare to ZC headquarters and open a can of Mark Vermeulen-esque whoop ass on the selectors.
