[Match Thread] Ireland v Zimbabwe (World Cup Warm-Up)

Post by maehara »

Ireland v Zimbabwe
Nagpur, 15 February 2011

Zimbabwe were hammered by South Africa in their last warm-up match; Ireland lost to New Zealand by 32 runs, and by all accounts made the Black Caps work for their win. On the other hand, Zimbabwe hammered Ireland in Dubai last week. Will be interesting to see how this one plays out.

anusha from sri lanka .... this is my idea i know i am 100.\. correct
i tell u dont belive zim enter super 8 ...
it is not posible
zim have not best batmans .only brendan doing good job
ather all batsmans are part time batmans ....same day they play well. but meny time they are fail ...
look at your captan..way he is still in the team..he cant bowll cant bat well. he is in but pleyer like raza out he shoude in
look at sl bating line .. look SA...aus...very strong
i bilive ireland batting so strong than zim...last game they are loss it s true...
but they have top batsmans...agens newziland they scored 275 not bad
ather hand zim fast bowlers is very week but ireland seamers not bad
zim have only one chance they have world class spiners
if batmans faill spiners cant do anything.....
zim will loss ageins AS . SL.NZ. PK That is 100.\:

i totaly disagree with you, Raza had a good 20/20 tourney but he hasnt been doing well in the pro40s. Rushing him into the national side on the bases of a few knocks may destroy his carier. We have a lot of openers who can come into the team ahead of Raza, Mawoyo, Duffin, Vusi have been consistent openers.

Our loss against S.A was expected, they have a mental edge against us and they have very good player. When we play Ireland 2moro its going to be a different game altogether.

It will be a very tough game. Zimbabwe should have a slight edge by having quality spinners. But, if Ireland can showcase the same display as they have shown against NZ, then it will be a very difficult match for either side. Good luck Zimbabwe.

We need to take care of the top 3 batsmen from Ireland then we sorted. ÑZ dont have three top class spinners thats why IRE wont repeat what they did to NZ that maybe the closest they will come to winning and scoring such a big total. I think the associates will struggle in this WC cause of pitches and spin. If we lose tomorrow it will because of zim throwing it away.

Yep our batsmen are 'batting for the other team' they not giving our bowlers any help.

Syedmham - Dire Straits
these are dire straits that we find ourselves in right now. We need 'The Sultans of Swing' to back up our Sultans of spin to get out of this one or some really good batting from low order. The thinking behind batting first is the best cos that is where need more practice.
