Openers failing
Okay, so the opening partnership is not working. Coventry was a bad selection.
In hindsight should be have taken Matsi to open instead........sorry, I mean Hammie.

A talented batsman but a modest, hardworking character, Stuart Matsikenyeri is the third of three school friends from Churchill Boys High School, Harare to represent Zimbabwe in international cricket. - Cricinfo.
Re: Openers failing
Matsi has done nothing to warrant selection lately, hamilton is pure class though and would have scored more runs than coventry I'm sure

Re: Openers failing
The opening will click, i am sure. It's just the question of waiting little more. If we can score fighting 50+ against SAF quicks(warm up) then no question why we cant do that against struggling Black caps. Big players choose big stage for their class act. NZ here comes Taylor-Coventry.

Re: Openers failing
give em a chance mate there only played 2 games together. you have no idea if you would make a change after 2 games beside coventry looked really good against australia it was just the pace of the short ball that troubled him his probly never faced that sort of pace in his life give the guy a brake he needs time to settle into his new role i mean he dosnt even opening the batting for tuskers.
