Why not just go back to basics, and check his first class statistics. One century, I think, and an av of 30 in abt 30 innings. And thats at Masvingo Sports Club, reportedly the flattest pitch in the whole country?

If Ballance was available he would be the third picked on my team (behind Brendan and ray) but anyone who's been on this forum for any time knows he isn't making himself available.

I do hold hope that he will come around-
This us where Ali Campbells persuasiveness comes in, he needs to spend a bit of cash, get some hookers, cocaine, jd and cokes, a penthouse and a blind ride and send it to Gary Nd if he still says no- get the guys Bobby M looks to when he wants to persuade miscreants

Who would you have in mate
1. Vusi
2. Masakadza
3. Williams
4. Taylor
5. Ervine
6. Taibu
7. ???
8. Utseya
9. Price
10. Mpofu
11. Chatara

12th man Ballance, Cremer

Sikander will be first name on my T20 list.

I think with a little persuasion Ballance will become available. An England call up is a long way away.

What’s the betting that Chigumbura won’t be in our first test squad in June? I think that top all rounder’s spot is now open, and hence the captaincy.

With Ballance I highly doubt that he is thinking too much about an England cap,but more of his Yorkshire contract, as was the case with S.Ervine. Play for Zim, and he loses his job, and the life he has been building in England for the last 5 or 6 years. Would be nice if he is available though, one of the best Logan Cup players this season, and still very young.

Well I selected him for my team on the basis he did change his mind.

He is Alistair Campbell, not Charlie Sheen.
A talented batsman but a modest, hardworking character, Stuart Matsikenyeri is the third of three school friends from Churchill Boys High School, Harare to represent Zimbabwe in international cricket. - Cricinfo.

Zimbabwe should now be looking to the future and selecting players who are hungry to perform and not just the top players that are earning top salaries. If you look at the past seasons Logan cup you will see alot of the younger players are performing because they are hungry. Mountaineers - T.Chitara, N.Mushangwe,K. Kusuza and G.Chimuta have all performed, Rocks -R.Kaia has performed, Rhinos - Magava has bowled well and Eagles - T.Mutombodzi has been the top bowler and C.Price and D.Mazhawidza have both performed when they got their chance. I believe these young players should be exposed to Zim A games to bring them through to international standards.
