I will take a few no balls if he can pick up wickets and bowl with pace. This wussy controlled but slow pace bowling hasn't been getting us anywhere so far.

He's back xD haha! :D Glad to see the guy back, he's such a diamond for our test future.
I can't believe some people think his selection would be political...? Why would that be so ?
He's quick, he's got a wicket taking ability, he's white (not had a white fast bowler since Anthony Ireland), and like ZIMDOGGY rightfully pointed out, he's good looking, possibly the future face of Zimbabwean cricket.
Great news! really is a good read when i log on and see such articles

Zim NEEDS a fast bowler. And I did not put forward this notion of "political" But I can see how this can be interpretted as political in the sense that he has had very little First Class and yet many in the forum say Chatara has not been seen on the international stage so we could give him another season in domestic etc. Chatara has some of the best figures in our local league and then Jarvis comes and walks into the team. There is Politics there. But it might not necessarily be because he is the son of Jarvis. (For me thats a bit hard to accept that that is the reason why, cos its obvious the reason he was put in is because he has pace.)

Chatara's fastest speed from what I can gather is in excess of 140 but he wasn't consistently bowling that fast... around 136 like Mpofu generally.

Does anyone know what Jarvis can get up to? And how fast is his stock delivery?

Does everyone remember the 2009/10 tour of South Africa, the two match ODI series...
Well I was watching that game at home and Jarvis bowled 144.8Kph, bang on 90Mph, he bowled it to Kallis and he nearly got his teeth re-arranged. After that he was consistantly bowling between 83 and 86Mph.

the zimbabwe express!...haha whatever lads, there are much better bowlers in zimbabwe than this guy,not to add to the fact that he is always injured, last time i think it was his hair wasnt up to scratch...ncube and chatara are the best seamers you got,cos there is no quickies there only millitary medos

You know, guys, pace alone doesn't take wickets(I don't need to bring up examples of indian "fast" bowlers to prove this do I?). This kid isn't anywhere near a call up on wicket taking merit. Though he has gotten a ZC development contract(also not exactly on merit), so they have plans for him if he stays fit. I'd just like to see him light up the domestic season at least once before being thrown onto the international scene.
